365 Cards-Loud

Made this card for the 365 Cards-Loud challenge

I totally love these fun papers and have used them for several tween/teen pages!

I thought this would be a fun card to send to my  husband if he ever went away for an extended period of time......not that that will happen, but ya never know, if work took him out of town then he might be gone for several days.  It's good to be prepared!

My day today has been a tad bit boring, Fridays at work are usually always slow, I'm just trying to make it to 5:00 and then looking forward to a date with the husband.  Ash is on her way up north to an orchestra state competition and will be gone until real late tomorrow night.  I'm also going to go see The Hunger Games tomorrow with my mom...I can't wait to see the movie, I've waited for the crowds to die down, so we should be good!

I'm also going to CRAFT!!  Yay!!  So, that's what I have planned for the weekend.

Anyone have anything really fun going on?

April Patches of Pink Link up Party

The theme for April is babies...and who doesn't love babies?!  I've had several people that I know recently add sweet bundles of joy to their families, and I couldn't be happier for them.  As for me....my baby is 16 and the only tiny one that will be added to the family will be in the form of a grandbaby....and that better not happen for several years. My almost 21 yr old son isn't dating anyone and has no interest in getting married for a long time and of course my baby is still a baby herself.  I do have 3 step daughters though and the two older ones are dating seriously....so who knows what their futures will bring!  Maybe there will be a baby around the house sooner rather than later!!  ;)

Here is my project for the April theme.  I just love frames, love customizing them to fit  room decor, a certain theme or someone's personality.  I made this card using the giraffe and palm tree from Create A Critter and my cricut, the monkey is a digi stamps from Meljen's called Monkey Toes.  I adore this monkey!!!

Please stop by Patches of Pink and check out the other DT members their projects are Awesome. Remember you can link up to 2 recent projects. The link up party will end May 9th @ 11.59pm EST. Be sure to link back to Patches of Pink from your projects and you can also grab the Patches of Pink Link-Up Button to help people find the link-up party!

Frosted Designs sketch #39

I finally put together a layout, seems like all I've done lately is make cards. Plus I have Project Life and I've been using that for my photos lately.

I  scrapped this picture of Ashlie playing with my sisters cats.  My sister and her family came to visit for Thanksgiving and brought all three of their cats, they were still fairly young kittens at this time and so dang cute!  Sorry the picture is kinda crappy, still using my broken camera, I have to save up to buy a new one.  Hopefully soon.

I am entering this in the Frosted Designs sketch challenge.+

Birthday Card and sketch challenge

I was playing around with a few challenges and made this card.  It is based on the sketch over at Sketches by Carly+ #54 and it also fits the challenge at Paper Playtime-+say it with sentiments theme-Birthday Card.  And also Bitten by the Bug 2-Balloons and Birthday Card.

I used an older scrapbook kit with coordinating papers, cut the bear and balloon from Create a Critter and put it all together.

That's it for me today, a nice, quickie post.  Now I'm off to do some reading!!

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday.

Thinking of You

I'm using the sketch over at Catch the Bug+ blog....Stella says sketch challenge #108 for these cards.  The sock monkey is a Bugaboo digi image.

Stella says Sketch
I flipped the sketch a little, used DCWV Green paper stack for the background, pattern paper is scraps, I colored the monkey with copics, used white puffy paint for dots, some stickles and popped up the monkey on dimensionals. The sentiment is a rub on from Pebbles in my Pocket.  I think this little sock monkey is just adorable!

Happy Easter

I totally bombed the Easter bunny basket thing this year. I only have Ash at home and she is 16, so I put a $20 in the second card and gave it to her.. I think she is just as happy getting some cash instead of a bunch of candy.  I'm totally off my game this year.  Blah..

Anyway,  I made these cute Easter cards with this adorable chick from Bugaboo stamps, she is just way too cute! Colored with copics, used my stash of paper, some ribbon, some stickles for a little sparkle, a pearl....and done! I tend to keep things clean and simple!

I am entering into the CAS-ual Fridays +challenge-something you would find in an Easter basket
Catch the Bug-Anything Goes
Allsorts Challenge-+Color Bingo, I used Pink, Yellow and Blue

We are having Easter dinner over at the parents house, ham, potatoes, rolls and strawberry shortcake. YUM!!!  Anytime I don't have to cook is a good time! Thank goodness for a mom that enjoys cooking!

For those celebrating Easter for religious reasons, I found the following video, it's about 8 minutes and worth the watch.  Have a wonderful day!

Live and Be Happy

Here are a couple more of my art journal pages. I love the quote that Leslie posted and used that as the journaling on my cup page, then our next assignment was just to play.  Put whatever we wanted on our page, play with paint, texture, stamps, just whatever spoke to us. I used a couple of stickers, and a tag that came from a piece of clothing.  I really like the way the LIFE one turned out!  The clock is a reminder to have faith and to live life and be present in life.  I hope I can use this reminder on a daily basis....I sometimes desperately need it.
