Tag, now your it!!!

I've been tagged by Lindsay over at 52 sketches, now I have to turn around and tag a few people. I'm kind of a computer dork and hope I get this right. The directions are as follows: go to your picture file, open the sixth folder and post the sixth picture and describe it's story.
This picture is my sister and her beautiful family. They live clear on the other side of the state, up in a little piece of paradise called Eden, Ut. I just spent a couple days with her this week when she came down for an appt. We don't get to spend a lot of time together, but we do talk often. She is my only sibling and we are closer now than ever. Love ya sis!!!
Now I'm gonna tag
Now you must go and tag 6 other people. I only did 3 cuz I'm at work...shhhhh, don't tell!!

Thank goodness for Guardian Angels

I got a text message last weekend from my ex saying there had been a bad crash, but that Jordan was ok. They were out camping at the dunes and were riding 4-wheelers and rhinos. The rhino that Jordan was in rolled.... halfway down a huge hill. One of the guys had to be life-flighted back into Vegas, but the others just had minor injuries. How they stopped halfway down the hill is a miracle in itself. Jordan seriously thought they were all gonna die and when they stopped, they thought their friend had died. If they had continued rolling, the outcome I'm sure would have been much worse. Needless to say, I don't think Jordan is all that anxious to be jumping back into the saddle...it might take him awhile before he's ready to 4-wheel again.

I pray for his safety everyday and truely feel like he was protected and looked after. That is a parents worst nightmare, to have their child hurt or worse in any kind of accident. I told his dad that I better never have another phone call or text like that again, but the only thing I can do is pray and have faith that Jordan will continue to be watched over. I love this boy, he really is a great kid and am grateful to be his mother.

sketch #2

Here's my take on sketch #2 over at 52 sketches. Jordan is on his high school basketball team and his colors are red, white, and black. I found these basic grey pattern papers and made a 6x6 album for him for Christmas and will also make a frame out of the same papers, I like them so much that I had to use them for this layout.

Jordan was here last weekend and was going through pictures and albums and made a comment that I had so many more pictures of Ash then of him. Well, he doesn't live with me so it's harder to get more pictures and when I do spend time with him, these are the kind of pictures I get..... hmmmm, maybe..... just maybe that has something to do with it!!!My mom says he's just taking after his mother (me) with all the goofy faces, but I'd have to disagree,I never look that goofy!! ;)

sketch #1

I decided to try and play along with some of the challenges on a couple different sketch sites in the hope that I will get and stay motivated to scrap. Here is my take on sketch 1 over at 52 sketches.
I am also going to use the sketches from Triple the Sketch for my scripture challenges this year. I decided that I would make scripture/quote album and put my favorite inspirational scriptures/quotes/stories all in one place. Anyway that is the plan.............I need to put a serious dent in my picture piles and need to rethink my scrapping system, so I can get more done and spend less time doing it...

Happy B-Day MC!

Just did this card for my niece's birthday....she turned 7. The frog is a stamp and popped up for dimension. The colors are much brighter in real life! Gotta get back into scrappin and I'm gonna try to participate in a couple of challenges...hopefully that will get me inspired and motivated!

Christmas and Basketball

Strangely, this Christmas was one of the better ones that I've had in a few years. I say strange, because I spent the holidays with my ex and my ex in-laws. I was planning on going down to Vegas for Jordan's basketball tournament on Friday and Saturday after Christmas, but they all invited me down for Christmas Eve and Christmas. It was so much fun to renew relationships with the family, we played games and ate lots of food. Christmas Eve tradition is to have seafood of some kind, and every year the family has baklava soup....very good, and always crab dip with crackers. Christmas morning is always italian sausage, eggs, and this year we also fixed french toast, cinnamon rolls and sweet bread. I was very grateful to be included because I haven't spent a Christmas with Jordan for a couple years. Here's a pic of us! He's so handsome and such a great kid.

Jordan and Ash playing Guitar Hero, Ash rocks on the drums, I can't believe how fast she picked it up. I actually played too, for the first time ever. I eventually made it from beginner to easy, and didn't do too bad! Course, I was just playing bass, someday maybe I'll try the other instruments...I'll never be the singer though. I don't sing..AT ALL. Ok, that's not really true, I sing in the car with the radio up really loud, so loud that I can't hear myself sing.. ;)
Jordan after playing in his b-ball tournament. It was so fun watching him play........LOVE it!! It was great fun and I'm glad I was able to spend that time with him.
