April Patches of Pink Link up Party

The theme for April is babies...and who doesn't love babies?!  I've had several people that I know recently add sweet bundles of joy to their families, and I couldn't be happier for them.  As for me....my baby is 16 and the only tiny one that will be added to the family will be in the form of a grandbaby....and that better not happen for several years. My almost 21 yr old son isn't dating anyone and has no interest in getting married for a long time and of course my baby is still a baby herself.  I do have 3 step daughters though and the two older ones are dating seriously....so who knows what their futures will bring!  Maybe there will be a baby around the house sooner rather than later!!  ;)

Here is my project for the April theme.  I just love frames, love customizing them to fit  room decor, a certain theme or someone's personality.  I made this card using the giraffe and palm tree from Create A Critter and my cricut, the monkey is a digi stamps from Meljen's called Monkey Toes.  I adore this monkey!!!

Please stop by Patches of Pink and check out the other DT members their projects are Awesome. Remember you can link up to 2 recent projects. The link up party will end May 9th @ 11.59pm EST. Birthday Pics!

Whew...the weekend is over, the party was a success and tomorrow is Ash's actual birthday.  SWEET 16!!

Ash, getting her gift from DEB, I just got gift cards to each store and put them in cute paper bags that I decorated.  (Will post them later)

                                                                                        Getting the next clue!!

                                                                                        Bath & Body works!!

                                                                                                  Bohmme

Aero!

The present hunt at the mall worked out perfectly and instead of having a balloon at each place, I just had hand written clues on zebra note cards, then she had to go to that store and ask for her present.  The girl at Bohmme actually sang to Ash, and the girl at AERO wanted Ash to sing a song before she would give her her present!  Jordan caught that on video...too funny, (she refused to sing btw). ;)

Here are some of the decorations for her party. We made these popcorn cones from pattern paper and put them in a box with styrofoam covered with cardboard and wrapping paper.  The banner was made from zebra paper and the letters are from the Hanna Montana cartridge.  We hung balloons upside down for some decoration between the kitchen and living room.  I put zebra paper around the water bottles and added a pink flower, wrapped some hersey nuggets in pattern paper and then put candy in some hurricanes that I've made with glass vases and candlesticks.  I was a lot of work, but Ashlie really loved it, and that's all that mattered!!

Brought to you by the letter "L"

My husband is gone for two weeks to annual training with the National Guard and I've had a long weekend and had all these plans to scrap as much as possible, HA.......... I've made a total of two cards and 1 page layout using the Project Life idea, you know slip your pictures in, write a little journaling, cute it up a little and you're done.  I did get one project done though, a monogram plaque representing my new last name.  I used a wooden plaque from Hobby Lobby, some light blue acrylic paint, a scrap of light blue from Basic Grey, a damask rub-on, and the L chipboard, also from HL and then just tied a ribbon to hang it from.  I really liked how it turned out and it was super easy!!!  You should totally make one for yourself....really you should! ;)

So, here is the board before:

And after: Sorry for the glare! Ash picked out several papers and we mod podged it on the board, made a few flowers and put tea hooks in the middle of the flowers and along the bottom.

Ash was very happy with the way it turned out, I think it's super cute and wondering why we didn't do it a long time ago!!!
