A fairy Happy Birthday

I don't know what's more fun.....a cute fairy on a mushroom, a pink sky, blue mushrooms and fairies with purple hair!?!  That's what I love is just coloring up with whatever makes me happy and with this one....a pink sky/clouds made me happy!

I used this darling image from Sasayaki Glitter Designs called Peggy on a Mushroom .  I used a basic A2 card base and the panel and banner are dies from My Favorite Things, the enamel dots are from Your Next Stamp and I colored with copics.

I hope you will stop by over at Sasayaki Glitter Designs as there are a couple challenges each month and a progressive challenge on their FB page and there are a lot of darling images to choose from as well!

Christmas Friends, Holiday Wishes

Hi Friends, I'm sharing a card today that I made with the image Christmas Friends from the Dec release over at Sasayaki Glitter Designs.  I love this image and thought it was too cute not to play with.  I colored with copics, papers are from my stash and different paper pads, Snowflakes, icicle border, rectangles and scallop border are all dies and the enamel dots are from Your Next Stamp.

I hope you like it and will check out the other amazing images HERE!

I'm sending this card to a little boy I heard about on KLOVE radio that was shot 5 times in the shooting in Texas while he was at church.  That situation just makes my heart hurt for him and those whose lives were lost and who lost loved ones.  This little boy just wants Christmas cards and that is one thing that I can do.  If anyone has extra Christmas cards and you have a minute to sit down and write a note, I'm sure this little boy or anyone else would appreciate your kindness.  You can find information on him HERE

It's Simple, I Love You!

Hi friends, I hope this day finds everyone doing well!

I'm sharing a card today using Turtles in Love from Sasayaki Glitter Designs.  You can find the image HERE and the Challenge Blog for Sasayaki Glitter HERE.

The card measures just less than 6"x 6".  I used a paper pad from Crate Paper called Heart Day.  Super cute papers, lots of hearts, X's and O's and fun patterns.

I colored with copic markers and layered up all the pieces, added a little ink around the edges and a few Nuvo drops.  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.  I also added some decorating to the inside of the card with a white square panel, a couple strips of paper from the collection, a heart and then I cut some of the flowers out from the flower paper.  I hope you like my card and will join us at Sasayaki!

You Give me the Feels

I love mermaids and any chance I get to play with I do!  This cutie is The Mermaid #124  from Sasayaki Glitter Designs. I love how she is just squishing the stuffin out of the little octo!

I created the background using the Waves Stencil from Simon Says Stamp and used four different distress inks to create an ombre ocean.  I used Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and Dusty Concord.  The enamel dots are Nuvo crystal drops in Violet Galaxy and Rhubarb Crumble.  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things-Essential Sentiments.

I colored the image with copics and added Wink of Stella to her tail and shell earring and added white get dots to the octo.

I hope you enjoy my card and will come join us over at Sasayaki Glitter Stamps on our FB page or Challenge Blog

Goodnight Dino

Hi friends, I'm sharing my card today using this adorable image from Sasayaki Glitter Designs called Goodnight Dino, I think he is just the cutest!!  I created the background with distress inks and hand drew the cave, he looks all relaxed and comfy!

I tend most of the time to leave my cards blank until I know what occassion and for whom they are for.  I thought for the inside of this it would be cute/funny to say something like "YOU'RE HOW OLD?"  ya know, cuz it's a dino, and they are ancient! ;)   Maybe I'll save it for my dad's birthday next year....heehee :D

I colored the dino with copics and added some prismacolor pencils for deeper shading, I also added white dots with my white gel pen and green dots with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Green Apple from Tonic Studios.

Books=Happiness

When I saw this image AMY LOVES BOOKS from Sasayaki Glitter Stamps  I knew that I wanted to create a canvas, this is the biggest canvas I've worked on, it's 12" x 16" and was perfect for what I envisioned.  I enlarged the image and made two copies, cutting out the bottom three books to stack for more height.  I colored it all with copic markers and then started on the canvas.

I used Multi Medium Matte to adhere a Tim Holtz tissue wrap to the canvas, put another coat on top, and started adding paint and color.  I laid down a light grey thin coat of acyrlic paint and then added gelatos in different colors.  The alpha stencil was used with Delta Ceramcoat in Tahiti Blue randomly on the canvas.  I spattered, white, black, purple and blue paint and then got working on the quote.  I googled reading quotes and chose this one, as it really says how I feel about books and reading.....for me, reading is my bit of happiness, as is creating, so this was perfect!   I used C.C. Designs big letter dies for the word BOOKS and cut out HAPPINESS with my silhouette.  The rest of the title was used with black sticker letters from EK Success.

I love how it turned out, love the image, love that it's a little bit messy and wonky and had a ton of fun creating!!

Check out the Sasayaki Glitter Etsy shop for lots of fun images to play with, I'm sure you'll find something to spark your creative imagination! :)

Love you.........

My card today features this darling image called A Flower for You from Sasayaki Glitter and you can find it HERE.

I used a few different pattern papers from the Pebbles Spring Fling 6x6 paper pad, a few papers from my stash, My Favorite Things Blueprint 14 for the square dies, flower, button, leaf and border.  I also used the Out of the Box die technique on the image.  I played with frantage for the first time in....well several years.  I bought a package with different types and colors and didn't really know what to do with it or how to use it,  so, I finally got it out and figured it out!  I think I love it!! :D

Happy Fall

Hey everyone!  I'm super excited to be posting for the first time as a Design Team member for Sasayaki Glitter.

For my first inspiration card, I've used Pumpkin Elly and you can find her HERE.

I just LOVE her and the fun fall scene, this card will be going to my sister and her family as elephants are her favorite animal!

I've used different pattern papers from my stash, some green and white twine that I've added to a couple pumpkins and the sentiment is from Craftin Desert Divas called Thankful Squeaks.   I've colored the image with copics and used a black prisma pencil to deepen the shadows.

I hope you like my card, come join us on Facebook or our Challenge Blog!

Happy Birthday

My card today is featuring this adorable elephant from Sasayaki Glitter that was a freebie at Kit and Clowders FB party a couple weeks ago, this is the perfect image for birthdays or celebrations!

My sister LOVES elephants and I didn't have this one for her birthday in Aug, so looks like I'm WAY ahead of the game for her next birthday!! 😃

hugged......

Here is my last card for the Taylored Expressions 9th birthday celebration.

I played a little bit with the sketch this time, not following it exactly, I didn't realize though that I used the color combo from the sketch!!  The little owl is from the Taylored Expressions Quick Critters die and stamp set. Lots of fun and super quick and easy!

Big Wishes

I made another card for the 9th birthday celebration over at Taylored Expressions using the fun sketch they provided.  The darling elephant is also from Taylor Expressions and is from the Hippo Birdy set.  There are a couple cute sentiments that could go with this, but I'm not sure if I will do a Welcome Baby  or Birthday card yet, so I will wait until I know before adding a sentiment.

I used several papers from various paper pads and the rectangle and banner die are from My Favorite Things Blueprints 13.  It's hard to tell but I also cut out an extra ear and popped it up for some depth.

Thanks for looking !! :)

Sending Birthday Wishes

I can't seem to get enough penguins and the ones from Sugar Pea Designs are just adorable.  These are perfect for masculine cards and since I never have enough on hand, decided to start building my stash.  I used the Happy Mail stamp set and the sketch/color challenge at Sugar Pea for the jumping point of my card.

All the stamps I used were from the stamp set and you can find it HERE.  For my background I took a couple different colors of copic refill inks and layed down big drops of color.  I really like how it turned out. :)

Sending you......

I'm playing again with the challenge over at Sugar Pea Designs, I used the color and the sketch inspiration and used the mail box, package, chevron arrows and envelopes from the Happy Mail set.  I love using the smaller accessory pieces to create a simple yet cute card.  I used the envelopes and arrows for the banner to go with the sketch.  I also did the inside with the sentiment and more arrows.

I Miss You. That is All

I'm playing with the sketch challenge over at My Favorite Things and used the Penguins in Paradise stamp set.  I used a couple of the accessory stamps and made a very simple card.  I love the simplicity and the sketch.  The scallop square dies are from MFT and I swiped my Tumbled Glass distress ink over the middle insert and added the palm and flower, the sentiment comes with the stamp set.

Have a Rice Day

I adore penguins and this little guy is so cute.  I'm not a sushi fan, but the image and the sentiments are just amazing!  The stamp set is Rice Rice Baby from Sugar Pea Designs.

I watercolored the background with distress inks in Blueprint Sketch and Broken China, added some flicks of water, white paint and more distress ink.  The scallop circle is a die from My Favorite Things and I hand cut the tag.  I followed the color scheme for the challenge over at Sugar Pea Designs.

Travel is a journey, not the destination

I found my love of travel when I was 17 and had the opportunity to go on a 15 day educational tour through Europe.  We started in Germany then traveled through Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, and England.  It was such an amazing experience and one that gave me the travel bug. As soon as I graduated high school and started college, my main focus of study was Travel and Tourism, but....life got in the way and I ended up married with a baby on the way.  And since then, I haven't had the chance to really travel the way I have wanted.

I created this canvas as a reminder of my love of travel and to use it as kind of a vision board, to get my mind focused on adventure, travel, experiencing new towns, cities, states and countries.  I so want to start moving, seeking and exploring again....even if I have to start out close to home!

I hope you like my canvas, I really enjoyed making it with all the different media, techniques and images.   The main image is from Saturated Canary and is one of my favorites.

You Mean the Whirl to Me!

I'm playing along with the sketch challenge over at Sugar Pea Designs, I used the images from
Blow Me Away stamp set.  I just love the little dragon in this set and there are so many fun accessories.

I colored the image with copics, used a handmade cloud stencil and embossed the bottom "grass" for some texture.  I love the green and purple together, and added some blues.  The wings, belly and horn have wink of stella on, but can't see from the picture and the whirlygig has been cut out three times and layered for depth.

Make A Wish

Whew, it's been a long time since I've blogged, it took me a minute to remember how to make a new post! Yikes!    To say that blogging/card making, etc, etc have taken a hiatus is an understatement.  In fact, I would like to take a hiatus, a very long one.....but I have found a little creative mojo here and there and played with the challenge over at Sugar Pea Designs using the Fairy Sweet stamp set.

                                   Store---Fairy-Sweet

I used the sketch from the challenge and some pattern paper from various paper stacks and colored this cutie fairy with copics.  The die scallop circle and banner are MFT and I used some prima flowers and NUVO drops for the centers.
