A Wonderful Time

I made this card specifically for a couple of challenges.  I used the Lil Lolita Ivy image, colored her up with my copics. Used my Unity clock stamp and embossed with white zing powder on the background paper. The black and white stripes are from a stamp that I've had FOREVER, I just stamped several and added for a frame.
I used some paper flowers, primas, brads, bling and stickles.  The stickles are on the flower center that I made by hand (I need to practice on those handmade flowers....what a pain!)  I made the sentiment that would be used for a trip to Disney or a birthday.  Hope you like it! :)

Anything Goes at Card Cupids

I made this card for the CARD CUPIDS Anything Goes Challenge

I used this darling image from MilkCoffee, they are sponsoring our challenge which is ANYTHING GOES. I colored her up with copics, used my spellbinders label 6 to cut her out and mat the image, the card is a pre-made base that I picked up at Michaels, used some ribbon from my stash, and used my border punch on the brown paper. Go check out MilkCoffee they have some seriously cute digi images! Come over to Card Cupids, play with our challenge and send in a card or two to a child in need...it will make you feel all fuzzy inside!! ;)

A little about Card Cupids

Rainy Days

are my favorite days, we have had clouds, thunder and lightening storms, and rain for the past three days which are desperately needed, Utah has been on fire all month, it's been super dry and windy.  I think at one point there were 8 different fires burning at once across the state. SCARY.   There have been a couple in Southern Utah as well, so it's a blessing to get the rain.

What does that have to do with my card today?  Just that it has this cute duck standing in the rain!!  The card is for the Card Cupid challenge which is WINGS, this cute image is from Wings and Willows and is a lot of fun to color up, you should go check out Wings and Willows etsy shop, Rebecca has a lot of cute images to choose from.

I used the sketch from JUST ADD INK and tweaked it just a little bit. I used pattern paper from my stash, actually, everything was from my stash...I love that! I used two sizes of brads because I didn't have four of the same size....I guess ya have to improvise sometimes.  :)

I colored the image with copics, cut out and embellished the scalloped circle (Spellbinders) and used some ribbon that I've had for awhile. I found the quote online, not sure who the author is, but loved it!  Then I just added some color and sentiment to the inside to finish it off!  Hope you like it, and hope you come join our challenge over at CARD CUPIDS!!

You simply SPARKLE!!

My card this week for the Critter Sketch Challenge is based on the colors in this picture from Design-seeds.com.  I love these colors, not only for the patriotic reason, but blue has always been my favorite color.
PatrioticHues515

My card is super simple, last week was a little crazy with time, work and travel. My husband and I spent the fourth of July in Las Vegas at the hospital visiting his  16 year old daughter. She's been in there now for almost 3 weeks and isn't really getting better, so needless to say, we've been quite concerned about her. We are waiting to hear back about some test results, but in the meantime she is fighting several infections and isn't able to keep food down. I think any chance we get, we will be heading to Vegas to spend time with her and of course, are praying for her recovery.

Ok, like I said...simple card. The image is a Whimsie Doodle digi stamp, which went perfect with the sentiment which is a Unity Stamp. I thought these went perfectly together for a card not necessarily used in conjunction with the fouth of July......it could be used for a girl card of any kind. I think this would also be perfect to send to someone who is in need of happy mail, or someone that has accomplished something hard, made a sports team, dance team, passed a hard test or met any goal that took a little extra effort.

My blues are a little off from the picture, but I was down to a deadline trying to get this done and didn't have time to go shopping.  I inked the edges, colored with copics, added stickles and a gem to the sparklers, the red border is from Doodlebug and I've had it for a long time...love using from my stash! I added white dots, black lining and glossy accents on the star on her shirt.  Super simple and super easy!

Hope you all have a great Monday and don't forget to head over to Critter Sketch Challenge Blog to link up your creation!

Card Cupids Challenge

The July 1st challenge is up over at Card Cupids, it's a fun, easy one!

Use ribbon, twine, or washi tape......if you are anything like me, you have several rolls of washi tape just begging to be used.  I tend to collect supplies and then hang on to them, I don't know...for fear of using them and running out??!! HA!  So dust off that precious ribbon, twine, tape, whatever you might be hoarding and put them to good use!! Get those cards made and then if you feel so inclined...send them in to Card Cupids and to a child in need of some happy mail. It will make you happy too!! :D

Here is the card I made, our sponsor is Stamping Boutique. I love this little ballerina, so cute and could be used with many different sentiments.  I have SHINE on the front of the card and I will add something inside before I send it, depending on if it's for a birthday or just a pick me up.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you come play with our challenge over at Card Cupids!

Happy Sunday to everyone!

My card was based on this sketch from +Papertake Weekly challenge #69, and I just flipped it.

King of the Throne!!

I put together this card for Ash to give to her dad for Father's Day. She is away at a youth camp with our church and won't be back until late Saturday, then I have to get her to her dad so she can spend Sunday with him.  I think it turned out cute and love that little skunk, he's so cute. Plus, Ash's dad and I have been divorced for about 10 years and I think the skunk fits.....(but not in the cute way!!)  0_o   I kid, I kid..........ah,  no I don't!  ;)

Inside of card

I used the sketch from Card Patterns

Glad it's Friday, been a long week, I've had some sleeping issues this week....tossing and turning, looking at the clock all night, it's so frustrating. I'm not very happy when I'm over tired and tend to be real onery, it's a good thing I have an amazing husband who puts up with me, even if I don't deserve it. Hoping to sleep better tonight...and at least I won't have an alarm clock going off in the morning. Yay for sleeping in!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Friendship

I got this adorable digi stamp from The Paper Shelter, they have some super cute images, and I chose the mermaid because my daughter absolutely loves anything to do with mermaids.  I colored her with copics, used stickles on her starfish and on her tail, I used glossy accents on some of the water, used some sea themed charms from my stash, distressed the paper a little bit and added the pelican .  I think she is adorable and have a special friend that I will be sending this to.  I used the sketch from Mojo Monday, but didn't get it done in time to enter the challenge.

I am going to enter the following challenges:

You're Special

I made this card based on the color challenge over at The Paper Players and the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches and also for the challenge of Flowers over at Critter Challenge blog

I wish now that I had matted each individual panel, but was distracted too much last night and was trying to craft quietly while the husband was trying to nap before a grave shift.  Do you know how hard it is to be quiet while trying to create something????   It's pretty dang hard!  I would have matted the banner too.  I'm going to make a couple more like this and matte the panels and banner....I think I will like it better!!

You still have a little bit of time to play with these challenges, so go.....play!! ;)

Dynamic Duos and the Happiest Place on Earth

So...it's Saturday morning and I've got a couple of exciting things going on today!

1)  There is a new challenge blog called Dynamic Duos making their debut today.  This is a weekly card challenge and here is how they are breaking up by week. I got this right from their blog.

The challenge is divided into weekly "themes"...

Week 1-Bold and Sassy-bright, happy colours

Week 2-Subtly Yours-soft, romantic colours

Week 3-Black Tie-one colour plus black and a dessert option

Week 4-Monochromatic-same colours in different hues (light/dark)

Week 5-Mix and Match-we choose one colour and you add the other colour to ours to create your own "Dynamic Duo".

I'm excited about this blog because first..it sounds like a ton of fun playing with the "themes" each week, and second because I'm the guest designer for their very first challenge!!!  They held a facebook contest to see which colors would be the first used and they picked mine!!!

Here is the challenge button...how cute is that!!!

And here are a couple pictures of the card/gift card holder that I made. I used lime green and aqua and then neutrals of black and white. I'm really excited to be the first guest designer and I know I will be playing along with these challenges on a regular basis.  You all should go check out them out over at Dynamic Duos and play along with them!

2) In little less than an hour, we are heading south....all the way to the California Coast!!  My sister and her family, me and the husband and my kids, and our parents are renting a house in Huntington Beach for the week.  I'm so looking forward to a few days with a beautiful change of scenery (beach) and for fun (Disneyland)  I think I'm not going to want to come home!!

Happy Weekend to ya'll. :D

Critter Sketch Challenge #113

I used this sketch over at Critter Sketch Challenge to make this card.  I used these cute clear Snag 'em stamps from Imaginisce and stamped up a bunch of sea critters. I used aqua, orange, black and white, used my border punch from Fiskers, some ribbon, some stickles and added some stitching.  I really like the color combination and think the black really helps it stand out.  I think those little sea creatures are just too dang cute!!

Thinking of you

This card is based on this sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.  I used a chipboard flower from Bo Bunny's Sophie collection, and tried to compliment the colors on the flower.  I added butterflies and gems, and kept it real simple.  You should head over and play with their sketches.........go on, you know you need some crafting time!!!  ;)    I actually got to come home early from work today and started crafting early..YAY for more crafting time!  :D

365 Cards-Loud

Made this card for the 365 Cards-Loud challenge

I totally love these fun papers and have used them for several tween/teen pages!

I thought this would be a fun card to send to my  husband if he ever went away for an extended period of time......not that that will happen, but ya never know, if work took him out of town then he might be gone for several days.  It's good to be prepared!

My day today has been a tad bit boring, Fridays at work are usually always slow, I'm just trying to make it to 5:00 and then looking forward to a date with the husband.  Ash is on her way up north to an orchestra state competition and will be gone until real late tomorrow night.  I'm also going to go see The Hunger Games tomorrow with my mom...I can't wait to see the movie, I've waited for the crowds to die down, so we should be good!

I'm also going to CRAFT!!  Yay!!  So, that's what I have planned for the weekend.

Anyone have anything really fun going on?

Thinking of You

I'm using the sketch over at Catch the Bug+ blog....Stella says sketch challenge #108 for these cards.  The sock monkey is a Bugaboo digi image.

Stella says Sketch
I flipped the sketch a little, used DCWV Green paper stack for the background, pattern paper is scraps, I colored the monkey with copics, used white puffy paint for dots, some stickles and popped up the monkey on dimensionals. The sentiment is a rub on from Pebbles in my Pocket.  I think this little sock monkey is just adorable!

Happy Easter

I totally bombed the Easter bunny basket thing this year. I only have Ash at home and she is 16, so I put a $20 in the second card and gave it to her.. I think she is just as happy getting some cash instead of a bunch of candy.  I'm totally off my game this year.  Blah..

Anyway,  I made these cute Easter cards with this adorable chick from Bugaboo stamps, she is just way too cute! Colored with copics, used my stash of paper, some ribbon, some stickles for a little sparkle, a pearl....and done! I tend to keep things clean and simple!

I am entering into the CAS-ual Fridays +challenge-something you would find in an Easter basket
Catch the Bug-Anything Goes
Allsorts Challenge-+Color Bingo, I used Pink, Yellow and Blue

We are having Easter dinner over at the parents house, ham, potatoes, rolls and strawberry shortcake. YUM!!!  Anytime I don't have to cook is a good time! Thank goodness for a mom that enjoys cooking!

For those celebrating Easter for religious reasons, I found the following video, it's about 8 minutes and worth the watch.  Have a wonderful day!

Patches of Pink Spring Link Up Party

The Spring Link Up Party is live over at Patches of Pink, so head on over and link up your recent Spring creations there, grab your linky button and spread the word.  We can't wait to see what you created, and we might even pick some favorites to feature later on Patches of Pink. :-)

The link-up party will end on Sunday, April 1st at 11:59pm EST. Go check out what the other members of the DT have created, visit their blogs and leave them some love!

Here is the card I made. All the elements came from a super cute digi kit from Shanna Vineyard.  I just printed out the images, popped up the envelope, popped up the O in enjoy and added the cute scalloped border.  I put glossy accents on the hearts (on the bird and the mailbox).  I placed the sun to hang a little bit off the card. I used distress inks in broken china and faded jeans for the top part and embossed the red bottom of the card with my dot embossing folder and my cuttlebug.  The word life was from tiny type Cosmo Cricut!  I love the way it turned out!  All of the images come already colored,  ready to print and create, or used in a digital program too.

Shanna is having a giveaway in celebration of her first digi kit and you should go here to check it out, and enter her giveaway. One way to enter is to create a project using her kit, so I'm heading over to do just that!

I've been online friends...(more like stalker ;)  of Shanna's for several years now and just absolutely love her designs! She does a lot of hand drawn/painted elements and her color combinations and designs are just plain happy, she is seriously talented!

Ok...so head over to Patches of Pink and link up your spring creations...then head over to Shanna's blog Art Made with Heart, and check out her giveaway!

Happy Thursday to ya!! ;)

Birthday card

I made this cute birthday card for a couple of challenges. The adorable penguin is from Bugaboo Stamps...it's so dang cute!  The shaped card is from Studio G that I picked up at Michaels, I cut pattern paper to cover it (it was brown) , the green frame I purchased online from Lettering Delights..( I think).  I colored with copics and used stickles and glossy accents on the ribbon and little cherry looking thing on top of the cupcake.  I think it turned out cute...I did have to redo it...I kind of bunked up the first one.  I hate when I do that.  Anyway, just a quick post....and I'm off to watch an episode of Medium. Gotta love Netflix!!  ;)

So, I'm trying to cut back on my diet coke habit....I've only had two 44ozers since last Monday, and I'm trying to only have it on Saturdays..........but I can honestly say that I've got such a craving for one right this minute that I don't know if I can wait until tomorrow.......ACK!  I can literally taste it, I want that sweet bubbly goodness RIGHT NOW!!!   Have any of you tried to kick a habit?  It's dang hard....what did you do to succeed?  Or, at least cut back significantly?  Any tips, hints, or ideas would be appreciated!!  ;)

Ok, I'm off to start my day...yeah, it's already almost 11:00, I've been up since 6:30, but haven't gotten much done yet. So, off the pc and on to errands and chores!  Happy Friday everyone!!
