Critter Sketch Challenge-Recipe

Our challenge this week is a recipe challenge using 2 different colors of paper, 2 brads and 2 different ribbons.  Our sponsor this month is Softpencil and I've used this super cute image. I used background papers from my stash and kept the design super simple.  The second ribbon is a tiny little knot glued to the base of the pumpkin stem.  I colored with copics and inked around the edges.  Thanks to our sponsor for the darling image to play with.  You should come join us at Critter Sketch and check out Softpencil Studios for some cute images!

Owl-ways Love you.......Critter Sketch Challenge

This is the card I made for our challenge that is based on this sketch from Colleen Spangler. I really like this sketch and it worked perfectly for the image I used from SKdigis who is our sponsor this month.

I love this little owl, he was a lot of fun to color and play with.  I just used scraps that I had, so I'm not sure what brand or collection they come from, basically, I just used paper and colored the image with copics. No extra embellishments or anything.  Well, I hope you like it and I hope you join our challenge over at Critter Sketch, go check out our sponsor SKdigis, there are alot of super fun images, and lots for Halloween!

Hope you all have a great week!!

Back to School-Critter Sketch Challenge

Over at Critter Sketch , we have a fun Back to School challenge today. SKdigis is our sponsor for September, which is really fun, because I am a part of that design team and today they are kicking off their very first Blog Hop and Challenge!  Come check it out and take a look at the SKdigis store to find some super cute images!

SKdigis

I made these fun treats for my daughter and a few of her friends, I'm a little late, as school started over 2 weeks ago, but it's the thought that counts right?  I just used clear treat bags and made tags with the Happy Fish image, used scraps of paper and washi tape on the tag, and put Swedish Fish in the bags

Here is my card for the Back to School challenge using SKdigis Happy Fish image.  I did a "school" of fish for the front and inside it says "Best Fishes for a Great School Year"

I printed out a couple sheets of Happy Fish in all differents sizes, colored them with copics, added stickles, pattern paper and a tag hanging from twine....I was going for the fishing line look with the twine, not sure if it works or not,but I think it turned out anyway!

I based this on the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, but won't enter the challenge.....I tend to get messy with the inks and distressing, but after I flipped the sketch, it was what worked for this card.

So come join us over at Critter Sketch, link up your creation and play along!  Hope to see ya there!!

Sketch Challenge at Critter Sketch

Our sponsor over at Critter Sketch for August is Digi Doodle Shop which is where this adorable dragon came from.  I totally LOVE dragons, mystical creatures, fairy tales and anything in that genre.  That's why I couldn't turn down the chance to use another cute Louis image.  Just love him!

I colored with copics, used my silver glitter pen for his net, toes, and scales. The punched butterflies are from my Martha Stewart punch and just added some bling.  Also added primas and brads, some ribbon and matted it all on paper in my scrap stash.  The pink words are from Cosmo Cricket-Tiny Type.  I'm giving this card to my mom, she just had a birthday!  Happy Birthday MOM!! :)

Round it Up...Critter Sketch Challenge

Our challenge over at Critter Sketch is "Round it Up" we want to see circles!  Our sponsor is Digi Doodle Shop and I chose to use this darling dragon (love dragons) picking daisies, one of my favorite flowers!!  I embossed the grey paper with my an embossing folder to give the feel of dragon scales, colored with copics, used some primas and brads and then ribbon, I love this dragon and can't wait to color up another one!  Please join our challenge, stop over at Digi Doodle Shop and browse all their wonderful images, I'm sure there is something there that will catch your eye!

A little note about our sponsor!
Digi Doodle Shop is the results of a mother and daughter’s love for the arts and crafts. It was started a little over 3 years ago with a little more than 100 stamps, and has since then grown to almost 500 stamps. Joy (the mother of this team) designs realistic images, while Judy (aka/daughter) loves the “fun side of life”, and create images with a cartoon flair. Having these two complimenting styles have enabled Digi Doodle Shop to offer a wide variety of stamps.
It is a real honor and pleasure to sponsor this challenge, and we look forward to seeing all the amazing creations. We thank the design team for their incredible creations, and wish all the participants the very best of luck in this challenge.
Thank you so much for having us, and again the very best of luck to all of you.
Sincerely,
Judy and Joy

Hope you join our challenge and show off those circles!!  Can't wait to see what you make!

Have a fairy good day!

Before I get to my card today, I just wanted to make note of my weekend.  I use this blog mostly for scrappy/crafty stuff, but also want to document life as well.  We had the chance to drive up to Northern Utah-Logan, for my step-daughters wedding.  It was at the Logan temple and the day was perfect.  With the higher elevation and being up the canyon, I really thought the day would be nice and a little cooler. It was HOT, and didn't cool down until we got back into Salt Lake where we had nice  dark clouds and a cool breeze.

Here is a pic of my step-daughter and her new husband.  I totally love their shoes!!  They are such a cute couple!!  The day was a little bittersweet as we were missing my youngest step-daughter who is in Cedar Sinai hospital, she has been very sick for over a month and they transported her from Vegas to California about a week ago, hopefully they will help her get better, but so far it seems like everything they try to do for her doesn't work.  It was a beautiful, special day, but we missed her being there with us.

Totally cute shoes

Ok, on to my card.  I used this darling fairy image from Di's Digi's and then the sketch for our challenge over at Critter Sketch, here is the sketch by Colleen Spangler.  It was a lot of fun to work with!

I colored with copics,  butterflies are from my Martha Stewart punch, added gems, stickles, and glossy accents, did some outline work with black and white and then used my scrap pattern paper.  I haven't decided on a sentiment yet, will wait until I have the perfect use for this card.  Thanks for stopping by and if you got this far, thanks for reading!! ;)

You simply SPARKLE!!

My card this week for the Critter Sketch Challenge is based on the colors in this picture from Design-seeds.com.  I love these colors, not only for the patriotic reason, but blue has always been my favorite color.
PatrioticHues515

My card is super simple, last week was a little crazy with time, work and travel. My husband and I spent the fourth of July in Las Vegas at the hospital visiting his  16 year old daughter. She's been in there now for almost 3 weeks and isn't really getting better, so needless to say, we've been quite concerned about her. We are waiting to hear back about some test results, but in the meantime she is fighting several infections and isn't able to keep food down. I think any chance we get, we will be heading to Vegas to spend time with her and of course, are praying for her recovery.

Ok, like I said...simple card. The image is a Whimsie Doodle digi stamp, which went perfect with the sentiment which is a Unity Stamp. I thought these went perfectly together for a card not necessarily used in conjunction with the fouth of July......it could be used for a girl card of any kind. I think this would also be perfect to send to someone who is in need of happy mail, or someone that has accomplished something hard, made a sports team, dance team, passed a hard test or met any goal that took a little extra effort.

My blues are a little off from the picture, but I was down to a deadline trying to get this done and didn't have time to go shopping.  I inked the edges, colored with copics, added stickles and a gem to the sparklers, the red border is from Doodlebug and I've had it for a long time...love using from my stash! I added white dots, black lining and glossy accents on the star on her shirt.  Super simple and super easy!

Hope you all have a great Monday and don't forget to head over to Critter Sketch Challenge Blog to link up your creation!

Critter Sketch Color Challenge

The challenge over at Critter Sketch challenge blog this week is to create a project with these colors based on this picture, provided by http://design-seeds.com/index.php/home/entry/mental-vacation5.  Aren't those colors gorgeous, and I would love nothing more than to be sitting under that umbrella right now, laying on the beach, reading a book!!  Sounds like a piece of heaven to me!

Be sure to enter the challenge, our sponsor this month is Robyn's Fetish, the winner will get 5 digi stamps of their choosing!!

I tried to recreate the beach scene with this card, I used the sandcastle and umbrella  from the Create a Critter cartridge, the clouds were from a clear stamp, the sun was done with a circle punch and I just cut little strips for the rays.  The cute girl is a digi stamp from Some Odd Girl, she's adorable and I thought fit the scene perfectly.  I used glossy accents on her sunglasses and just colored her up with copics.  I kinda feel like the card needs something else, but can't put my finger on it, and I didn't want to keep adding to it for fear of overdoing it and then ruining it.....so I guess it stays as is for now.  Maybe shading or inking....hmmm, I'll have to see about that!
