Sending Birthday Wishes and some real life stuff..

I haven't done much lately with card making....I've been kind of taking a break and doing more reading, more coloring classes and spending time with my family.

My family has really been going through some challenges, as all families do, but this is where I know my time is needed.  I will craft, scrap and card make as I have time, some times I will have more time and at others....less time.  My daughter just recently moved out and over to my mom and dads, which leaves me with at least half of her room to convert into a scrappy space, I've got most of it done and set up and I LOVE it!  Ash being over at my mom and dads is a nice safe baby step for her to being more independent and also she can be there to help my mom.  My mom was diagnosed last Oct 2014 with ALS and we have been dealing with and trying to accept what that means.

But for today, I do have a card to share, I've had this cutie penguin colored up for awhile and used the sketch over at Sugar Pea Designs to get him on a card!

Here is my card

                                                                      and the sketch!

I colored with copics, used a big chevron stamp for the background and the arrow image from the
Happy Mail stamp set

Birthday Wishes

I hope you are all having a beautiful Sunday....I have a card to share today using this darling mailbox from the Happy Mail set from Sugar Pea Designs.  I used the mailbox, some letters to put in the mailbox ( I cut a slit in the mailbox and slipped in two letters) a package and the sentiment.  I colored with copics, the clouds are dies from Lawn Fawn and the card is from a packaged set of card and envelope blanks I picked up for %75 off at Michaels.

I just love this stamp set and will definitely be using this a lot in the future.

You are the MAN!!

Hey all, I'm sharing a card made with this cute little super hero from A RANDOM FAN, I'm thinking this will be perfect for my nephews birthday, he'll be 11 and will get a kick out of this image!  It reminds me of Captain Underpants!!LOL

I only used cardstock and the sentiment is stamped and then I inked around the edges.  Really simple & really easy, I think it's hard (at least for me) to make elaborate male cards.  I don't think many would appreciate all the embellishments anyway..!  The stars are part of the MFT Blueprints 13 as is the pinked circle, and I colored with copics.

Bee Grateful

I'm sharing my cover page for my gratitude journal which is part of a challenge that my friend
Leslie Ackman is having on her blog and FB page.  I am hoping to get in all 30 days and not start strong and then fizz out half way through....which is my usual pattern.

I love the idea of writing down a few things each day that I find I'm grateful for, they can be very simple, one word, a sentence or paragraph, but keeping it simple will probably help me stick with this every day.  I bought a ATC size sketchbook from Michaels and got my cover page done.  I have written down my day 1 and 2 gratitudes and will have to get caught up with my pages today.

For my cover  I used pattern paper to cover the sketchbook page and then used this stunning image from Simply B Stamps...it was the image used in one of Alyce's (Kit N Clowder) color alongs that she used to do, I'm not sure it's still available.  I used Lawn Fawn hearts die cuts and some letter stickers for my title.  I also watered down some gesso and spattered it all over.

I hope you like it and will check out Leslie's challenge and join us on the FB page Mind.Body.Soul-Art Journaling
