Enjoy your day!

Of course, if I have a book in hand I can always enjoy my day!

Come join us at Little Miss Muffet Stamps for a new challenge, the theme is to Use a Favorite LMMS image, well I love anything that is whimsical and anything that is fairytalish/fantasy themed, and of course anything to do with books.

I used Polka Dot Pals Lirienne image for my card and made the inside a pocket for a gift card to a book store.  I just got a gift card to Barnes & Noble and bought a book last night, so I know for my book loving friends, this card will be perfect!

Winter Mae

I'd like to share my last Christmas card this year....sounds weird saying that!  I hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year.  I know that I am ready to put 2015 down in the history books and look forward to a hopefully better 2016!

I've used Some Odd Girl's Winter Mae image for this card.  The base is made using scalloped square die from C.C. Designs, the square and rectangle dies are also from C.C Designs,  and used some scrap paper I've had for several years.  I colored Mae up with my copics and it's hard to tell but the pearls in the middle of the snowflakes are a deep red that I changed the color using my R89 copic marker.  I finished it off with a little twine and rub on sentiment.

I just love Some Odd Girl images, you can find Winter Mae HERE.  They are so fun to color and always add the perfect image to my cards and projects!

Foxy!

I'd like to share a couple of tags I made using the fox and santa hat from the Christmas Carolers stamp & die set you can find at Paperie Ink.  The tag and to/from words are a tag die set from Sugar Pea Designs and the snow are dies from Lawn Fawn called Stitched Hillside Borders.  The Christmas tree and snowflakes are stamps from Sugar Pea Designs Sweet Treats set.

These look so cute on a package and are fairly fast to put together.  Hope you come check us out at

Nothing is Impossible!

I just love the little elephants in the Paperie Ink Tons of Thoughts stamp set, and used this little cute one for a project life page that will document my grandbaby's birth at two months premature and the fight be healthy and strong, I think the sentiment is perfect for the pictures that I will be using!

I love the little accent stamps, this pinwheel is so cute!

Christmas Train

Christmas is almost here and this is the only Christmas decor that I have out, except for the one little flower bunch to the right.  I have no desire to decorate and honestly don't have the space now that my table that once held my little 4' tree now has a tv on it.  So, this little 4x4 wooden block with this adorable Christmas/Winter train will be my only decor for the year.

I sized the images bigger so they would fit on the wooden block and I colored using copics.  I added a little dimension on the wheels with enamel accents and used some distress ink in Tumbled Glass around the edges. I used the Linking Train Winter and the Linking Train Winter Cars these are so fun to play with!

Come see us over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and join us with our new challenge of HOLIDAY CHEER     there are tons of new, cute, fun, adorable images in the store and you've got two weeks to join our challenge, we would love to see what you create!!

Season's Greetings!

Hey all, happy Saturday to ya!  I'm sharing my card  using the Christmas Carolers stamp and die set from Paperie Ink.  I created this little winter woodsy gathering scene by using the Birch Tree stencil from C.C. Designs and some off white acrylic paint.  Once it was dry, I used a couple lighter brown copics to add the detail and shading to the trees.  The sentiment is also from C.C Designs Big Christmas Wishes set.

What I really love is how versatile this stamp set is, you can mix and match all the little critters and I think I used them all, there is one more hedgehog that faces the other way and lots of accessory stamps.  You can check out the stamp set at  Paperie Ink and see all the inspiration from the DT and the other stamp sets available!

Luna Bitterfrost Snowman

Anyone up for a little goth with their snowman??!!  I love it, Luna Bitterfrost is just dark enough and cute enough to offset all the cutesy Christmas stuff going on....not that there is anything wrong with that, but this appeals to my little bit of a darker side.   I imagine Luna as an introvert who just wants to hang with her little snow buddy and not be bothered by all the Christmas carols and well wishers, not that she's an outcast, she just likes her solitude! I can relate!!

My little Elf on a Shelf

I don't do the Elf on the Shelf, but since this cutie made her way onto a card and the card is on my shelf....well, that works for my version of Elf on the Shelf!!  I don't have littles at home and not sure if I did I would do the Elf thing anyway cuz I'm really not consistent and I'm sure the Elf would be left and forgotten in the same place day after day.....and the kids would probably feel jaded and that their elf was lazy and unmotivated...that would be the excuse I would give them anyway! ;)

Happy Weekend!! I hope you all are having a great day!
I'm up today on the Paperie Ink blog with this card.  I've used all the images from the Flyin' High stamp set, aren't these images so cute!! I just love the different images, accessory stamps and clean cutting matching dies!  The bigger clouds were from a single stamp from my stash.

I've colored all the images with copics and kept to a softer color scheme this time, I just love the little airplane and how cute with the banner....there are several words that fit in the banner and would be perfect for all occasions, the cityscape is cute too and look at the hat and bow on the bear and bunny....oh my goodness, the cuteness is too much!
Please head over and check out the inspiration on the Paperie Ink blog, have a great day!!

I've used a lot of flowers and enamel dots, the dots are gumdrops from Your Next Stamp, I LOVE these dots, and I've used several flowers from my stash. I've used dies from Spellbinder, Lawn Fawn and My Favorite Things.

Happy Saturday! I hope you all had a great holiday weekend or safe Black Friday Shopping!  I'm sharing my card today over at Paperie Ink and all the stamps featured are from the Christmas Carolers stamp set and I've colored everything with distress inks.

There are so many fun accessory stamps in this set and some very cute little critters and birds to play with.  I've used the branch outline and solid stamps to create a wreath, the ornaments also have a outline, solid stamp and matching die, then I added some berries and the cute little birds.  I cut out the birds using the dies and put foam tape to add some dimension along with some twine to finish it off.

I used the sentiment "from our family to yours" on the inside.

My Hero

Happy Thanksgiving to those of you in the United States, I hope you are enjoying your day, your traditions, your family and yummy food!

I went a little bit different on the Thank You card/Give Thanks theme over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps, this cupcake image Super Star Cupcake reminds me of a super hero and I have a few of those in my life that I felt this would be perfect for.  This will go to my dad as I feel so lucky and grateful to have him in my life.

My dad has always been my hero and right now at this time as we celebrate our first Thanksgiving without my mom (she passed away last month from ALS) he shows what it is like to have a quiet courage and strength to move forward. He mourns her absence everyday and his heart is hollow, but he still reaches out in service to others. He helps because that's just who he is. He doesn't give himself any credit and never feels quite good enough, but he doesn't see himself through others eyes, and he has been a blessing and a hero to many.  He is a perfect example of what a loving husband looks like and while he is hurting and sad, he knows my mom is in a better place, free from her tired and sick body and I know that gives him comfort, he knows he will see her again some day and I know that gives him strength to carry on.  They were married 47 years and she left us way too soon as I'm sure many others feel the same who have lost loved ones.

My prayer for anyone who is missing a loved one or feeling alone to know that they are truly NEVER alone.  I believe in angels and I believe that God loves everyone of us and I pray for comfort and peace for any who are in need.  I know my mom is watching over us, I have felt her near me at times and have felt her love, a little soul hug when I most needed it.  My emotions are close to the surface at this time and while I normally don't share, I felt that I wanted to.  I haven't really written my feelings down yet about my mother and her passing, just this little blip, I will go more in depth, but in my personal journal.  At this time, I hope you are all surrounded by peace and comfort and know that each and everyone of us are heroes too..... :)

The inside says Thank You.....forgot to take pic, it's one of the rare ones that I actually decorated the inside as well!

Cutest lil' Elephant EVER!

Happy Weekend to everyone!!

I'm so excited to be sharing my first card with Paperie INK.  and I have to say that I am thrilled to be on the design team! These stamps are amazing, the matching dies are easy to use and there are a ton of accessory stamps with each set, and these stamps are seriously so cute...and versatile!

I used this darling little elephant from the Tons of Thoughts set.  I know I'm going to use this little guy quite a bit, I just think he's adorable.  The sun, dandelion and sentiment are all from the stamp set as are the little whispy dandelion petals (are they called petals....I'm not sure, but they're cute!!).

I used a die cut frame, polka dot stencil for the background with white ink, ribbon, twine, the sentiment is embossed, and I watercolored the background inside the frame.  I hope you like and will head over to Paperie Ink and follow us for tons more inspiration from my amazing design team sisters!

So Thankful

As we are in the Thanksgiving season, our challenge over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps is Giving Thanks, Thank You or a Card of Appreciation.

I used this sweet image called Polka Dot Pals Hazel and colored her up using the color inspiration challenge over at Your Next Stamp. I used distress ink for the background, and the border stitching is from a stamp in the new Paperie Ink Christmas Carolers set.

I'm sending this to my amazing grandmother who is 92 years young and still taking care of herself.  She is such an example of strength and kindness.  She was a nurses aide for most of her life and helped countless people with her service.  She is still quilting and has made hundreds of quilts and afghans over the years, and I've been blessed to receive several of these wonderful gifts.

Who or what are you thankful for this year?  If it's a who...make sure you send them a note, card, message or  give them a call, let them know you're thinking of them and are grateful they are in your life.  Happy Thursday to ya'll!!:)

Always Be a Mermaid!!!

Mermaids have always been a favorite in my family, ever since my son was a toddler and Disney's Little Mermaid came out, he was in love with Ariel (sorry son :P ), my daughter too, Ariel is her favorite Disney Princess.  Then when she hit the tween age it was Aquamarine, trust me, I've watched both these movies more times than I can count.  I think mermaids fascinate me so much because the thought of being able to swim, and live under the water actually terrifies me and they make it look easy, graceful and glamorous.  I know they aren't real, but with all things fastastical and mystical, it's fun to pretend!

So my art journal today consists of tons of mermaid images, sea friends and the awesome coral reef. All images are from SOME ODD GIRL.  (links below)
I colored all the images with copics, the sea is made with a wave stencil from Simon Says Stamp, the waves are distress ink in Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon, & Peacock Feathers. The quote is made from Your Next Stamp clear letter stamps and the sand is torn cardstock.  This was truly a labor of love as it took many hours, but I'm so happy with how it turned out, I think it would also look fabulous on a canvas!!  I do apologize for a little glare on the pic.

Stick with me.....

We are in the second week of our Anything Goes challenge over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and I've used this fun image called Voodoo Heartache.  I think she's an awesome, sad little doll and I'm using her for an anniversary type card for my husband!  He doesn't really do creepy, but I love it and he's going to get it whether he likes it or not....it's the thought that counts right?

For my image, I used copics
Hair BV04,02,00, 000
Body W7,5,3,1
Heart and Pins R89,59,37,24
Stitches and Eye YG95,91
Background was done with watercolor paper from Ranger and distress inks in Dusty Concord, Barn Red, & Hickory Smoke.  I also spattered a little bit of red and white.
Dies: Rectangle is from MFT Blueprints 13, Magic Bottles and Skulls are from C.C Designs

Super Awesome

Hey everyone, I would like to share my card for the Bingo challenge that is still going on over at
Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  I used the LMMS image, dies and pattern paper for my bingo and used this darling image called Swings 'n Slides Lollipop.  I colored her up with copics and went a little lighter with my colors this time, I added some Wink of Stella on the lollipop and polka dots on her dress and bow, I also used my yellow Kirarina Wink pen to add yellow dots on her dress and bow.  The heart dies are from Lawn Fawn and the sticker letters are from Cosmo Cricket.  Then I just added some line work and some white dots on the hearts.

And, that's it from me today, I'm still recovering from my trip to Disneyland last week, catching up is hard and the only thing that sucks about going on vacation is all the work to be done when I get home.   I seriously need a couple days of vacation to recover from vacationing!

LMMS Polka Dot Pals Mystie

Happy Thursday everyone, I'm extra happy today because 1) I am on vacation and anytime I am not at work is a happy time, even if it's just a day off to stay home!! 2) I'm at DISNEYLAND....whoot! I'm with my two kids and we have been here since Tuesday and will head home on Saturday. 3) It's a new challenge over at LITTLE MISS MUFFET STAMPS...the theme is BINGO.

For my bingo I've used flowers/ribbon/LMMS image.  The ribbon is folded and underneath the flower on the banners.  I've colored up Polka Dot Pals Mystie and used a  background technique I learned from my Create and Learn class from Alyce at Kit and Clowder.  I love learning new things and think this adds fun detail to such a cute image!

I hope you join us over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps for this fun challenge, we'd love to see which Bingo combination you choose to play with!
