Loads of Layouts!!!

Well, loads for me, plus I'm so behind in my Design Your Life class that it's not even funny. I'm having a hard time finding pictures to go with the sketches. I will be taking lots of pics this next weekend though as I'm heading to Dallas for a conference and 1/2 marathon, so I'm sure to come back with TONS of pics that will be perfect for these sketches. This class is quite a bit different than my usual scrapping style, but I'm getting a lot of pics on the pages and the clean lines and design is visual pleasing. So, here are some of my LO's based on Cathy Z's DYL class. And yes, I have a TON of pics/LO's of my cute daughter. My son lives in VEgas and it's just me and her.........and she LOVES the camera!!!!

The cutest love topiary ever!!

Isn't this the cutest??? I can't really take credit for the idea, as I found it on someone else's blog, and I can't find that blog again to link to to give her credit. Dang it! She had a really cute blog too.
I did tweak it a little bit, I couldn't find a pail, so I got a flower pot, painted it red, flicked some white paint on it and added the black ribbon around the top. I think it turned out really cute, and I finally have come down off the glue high that I had for a couple days! That is some strong smelling glue. (E6000)
It was kind of a messy project, glitter, glue, and moss everywhere, but it was fun, easy and didn't take too much time. I think it would be fun to have a topiary for every holiday!! Hmmmm, what's next? St. Paddy's day...fun!

Party in the USA!!

Amber, my former, (sort of ) sister in law took her daughter and my daughter for a day full of makeovers, manicures, lunch at Serendipity, shopping and finally a Miley Cyrus concert. They all had so much fun and I used all the pictures they took to do one of my DYL assignments.
then I used pics of my son to finish the second assignment. I'm kinda falling a little behind in the class, but trying not to get stressed about it. I love it, and I love that it's making me scrap and get some motivation back. I have too much invested in this hobby to just sit and stare at all my supplies. :)

2010-the year of Challenges!!!

I've signed up for an online class by Cathy Z called Design Your Life, it's 12 weeks long, with a several assignments per week. I'm also trying to do a card a day challenge on 2 Peas, I don't think I'll get one a day done, but maybe a couple a week. I've also signed up for the Transformation.com challenge. With this challenge there is a Dallas conference and half marathon in March, my intent is to go, so I'm going to start training for a nice 13.1 mile run! I sure hope that I can keep up with all this and that I didn't take on more than I can handle.

These are my first 3 assignments from the Design Your Life class.

And,my first two cards for the card a day challenge!! I think this will be a great way to stay motivated and to stay challenged......I just hope I don't get overwhelmed!!

I haven't scrapped much in the past couple months, I just don't have the motivation to do much in the creative way. But, here are a couple things that I have managed to squeak out. The card was for a little boy that is suffering from a life threatening illness and this sweet little boy only wanted to receive Christmas cards, well how can you turn that down? So, I sent it on it's way a few weeks ago and only hope that it brightened his day a little bit. I also managed to finish a scrapbook page, this is of my daughter and her friend getting manicures and drinking chocolate from Starbucks....two of lifes greatest pleasures!!

Franken--skulls

So,here's my attempt at holiday cards for Halloween, and my attempt at making some kind of new decoration for the home. I got the Frank idea from here.
The fact that he was so easy to make was, in fact, the reason he got finished in the first place. I have a hunchback guy that stands about 3' tall that I have all painted, but haven't put him together yet..........he's been done for over 8 years. Wow, that's just sad. There is alot to be said for fast and easy!!
I guess I'll shoot off these cards to my nieces and nephews and hope that they get them before Saturday!! That will actually make me feel pretty dang good, instead of my usual, making cards and hording them for no apparent reason......off to find postage!!

There just are no words!!

This................is what happens when you turn 63!!! Happy Birthday dad!! LOVE your goofy self!
