Merry Christmoose

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.  I traveled a couple hours to spend the day with my grandparents, their health isn't good and I'm not quite sure how much time they have left, so it was really good to see and spend time with them.

I had a very relaxing holiday weekend, 4 1/2 days off of work...YAY!!  Did NO black friday shopping and tried to stay off the roads at all times during this crazy weekend.  Ash was in Vegas with her dad and Steve had to work most of the weekend, so I had alot of alone time.  I don't know about anyone else..but I LOVE ALONE TIME.  I've always thought I would make a really good hermit.  I'm more of a homebody and most of my hobbies are done indoors, and I just sometimes love solitude.  I've considered that maybe I'm just weird...and I'm ok with that!

Ok, enough rambling and on to my card.  I've used SKdigi's Christmoose image.. he's just so stinkin cute! I knew I had to color him up right away.  Look at him..he's too fun!  I really need to work on my coloring though, I am definitely wanting to take a class and learn to color better so images really stand out.  In fact, I'm hoping to take a class from Created from Color, the basic class and work up from there. I've hinted at it for a Christmas present, so I'm crossing my fingers!  Anyway, here is my card, I've used scrap Winter papers, a few punches, gems, the snowflakes were a cricut cut from Joys of the Season cartridge and then the moose and sentiment were from SKdigi's.  I inked around the edges and looks like I got a little carried away with the ink on part of it... :/    ACK!

You still have a couple days to join our linking party over at SKdigis HERE the theme is ANYTHING GOES!

Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!! :)

The nonprofit, Card Cupids announces today on its two year anniversary, its new name: Sunshine Mail Foundation. The Virginia based non-profit which began in November 2010 is changing its name to better reflect its mission of brightening the day of children in need.

“We began by providing cards and stuffed animals to a few children in hospitals but over time we have expanded to providing care essentials and age appropriate items to children in homeless shelters, foster care, hospitals and children facing medical challenges. We believe the name, Sunshine Mail Foundation, better reflects all of the services that we provide to children” says Stephanie Busby, Executive Director.

In 2013, Sunshine Mail Foundation has set a goal to reach more children in homeless shelters with their Sunshine Mail care packages that provide comfort, support and joy through care essentials and other age appropriate items.

Sunshine Mail Foundation supports numerous children’s hospitals and family shelters nationwide along with countless children in foster care and children facing medical challenges. For more information and to get involved, please visit www.sunshinemail.org.

Fall Hello

I made this card using this cute freebie image from Pixie Dust. I love it, she's so cute!  I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday, colored her up with copics, used dark brown cardstock for the card base, primas, brads, gems, twine, pattern paper and a border punch.

Here is the sketch

and my card.  I changed it up a little bit and added a little more to the card on the first picture.

I didn't realize how dark these pictures look....ugh,  sorry.

Card Cupids-Happy Fall Ya'll

Our challenge over at Card Cupids for the next two weeks is being sponsored by Fresh Brewed Designs, and the theme is Happy Fall Ya'll, here is the card I made using this sweet fairy.

I used pattern papers from the MME reunion 6x6 stack, prima flowers, black brads, the brown and white tape is from my old stash and is from Heidi Swapp (I've seriously had that tape for YEARS!)  I used my Fiskers border punch and colored her up with copics. I think she makes the perfect fall fairy!

Please come join us over at Card Cupids, link up your project or card and please consider sending in any extra cards you might have to a child that could use some happy mail.

Here is the official Mission statement from Card Cupids.

Card Cupids mission is to provide Happy Mail Packages and Birthday Bundles to children who are facing difficult challenges in their young lives regardless of their economic background.
