Senior Photo Shoot

I finally got around to scrapping one of Ashlie's senior photo shoot pictures.....it was hard to pick the main picture, but in the end chose this one.  The others I will most likely do in a Project Life type album, with this page as the title page.
All of her photos turned out so good, I can't wait to get them all in an album!!

I used the page kit from We R Memory Keepers-Hello Life, a few punches (flower, butterflies) everything else came from the kit.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

I used the sketch over at Let's Get Sketchy

Friends

Ashlie and Kaela have been friends since they were about 3 years old. Kaela's family lived right next to my mom and dad, and when we would come up from Vegas for a visit, we would get the girls together to play. Well, when we moved back to Utah a few years later they continued their friendship and  they've stayed friends even though they've had a few ups and downs.  I have several pictures of them together and pics of them every year on the first day of school.  It's great to have a someone that you've been friends with for a long time and can be yourself with.  These two girls had a sleep over when these pictures were taken and were totally goofy and having a blast.   I hope they continue to stay friends for the rest of their lives and value the friendship they have.

This layout was a Friday Photoshop lesson from Jessica Sprague.

Hope you all have a happy Labor Day weekend!!!

Two Cute Girls!

Just posting a quick digi layout I did with the help of Jessica Sprague and her Photoshop Friday series.  This is of Ashlie and Shelby (my step-daughter), we are so lucky, grateful, and blessed that these girls get along and actually really like each other.  Shelby was with us for a week during the summer and these girls became fast friends.  This was really the first real time they had spent together since the wedding, they are only 1 day apart, and have a lot in common.....especially their like of boys!!  Good thing "the husband" has a shotgun handy!!  ;)

Just finished this assignment over at Jessica Sprague, this was a quicky assignment, a 30 minute from start to finish project. Honestly, I didn't time myself, but I don't think I made it under 30 minutes, still though it was a start to finish project and I'm surprised at how it turned out. I did have to go back and reference some of the instructions on how to do certain techniques, but all in all, I was happy with the turn out. I wonder why this is taking me so long to get the hang of....certain aspects of it seem to come easily and others are taking their own sweet time sinking in. So I played around with the dates on these two versions. Which do you like better????

This one has the date up under the photo, a little smaller and less noticeable.

And this one...the date is bigger and takes up the bottom corner. I know which one I like better, but wanted a few other opinions. So, if your opinionated and want to comment on which one ya like better, please feel free to do so!! :)

First Day Freshman

Can't believe my baby girl is a freshman....ACK. Where in the world did the time go? Her cousin was visting and they had their fun staging a photo shoot, and Ash is definitley not camera shy! They got some good pics and I played with the best ones, using Bo Bunny's Sophia line.. LOVE it!!
Then I just had to do a LO on her growing up, and me gushing about how proud I am of her!
And then I reused the package that the Bo Bunny buttons came in and used the idea on the Bo Bunny Blog to make this cute teacher gift! Ash's teachers birthday is today and she wanted a fun gift to give. Really easy, really cute!! Sorry for the glare, ya know..I've been working on learning photoshop and having fun with that, and the next thing I need to do, is learn how to better use my camera!

Beginner down...

Intermediate.......here I come! Yep, I signed up for the next class at http://www.jessicasprague.com/, whoot!!! In the meantime though, I'm going to be practicing all the cool things I've learned so that I'm super ready for the next class! If you are thinking about learning digi scrapping, or photoshop, I highly recommend her classes. Very easy to follow along and totally fun!

This was my last assignment for the beginner class. I didn't have any great pics of the house, so it's kinda just a bunch of thrown together photos...but I just wanted to get it done. I'm going to plan on being more prepared for the next class though with some better pics!

Lovin the digi scrappin

I just finished my assignment #3 over at JessicaSprague. Gotta say, I'm kinda diggin it!! Look how cute this layout is! The only thing I can take credit for is the cute girl in the pictures, other
than her........the layout was all pre-done with the class. I'll really feel like I can accomplish something when I can make something this detailed on my own!

Photoshop is kickin my butt!

Ok..so I've been taking the beginning photoshop class over at JessicaSprague.com and I think once I get the hang of digi scrapping that I will absolutely love it. But, until then the learning curve has had some frustration to it. I've only completed 2 lessons so far.....I always seem to be behind...the story of my life!!! UGH!! So, here are a couple layouts that I've done from my assignments. They are based on quick pages, which for me, might be the only way I digi
scrap until I get more comfortable with the process.

That's my cute daughter who is in science class wearing big ole glasses and then described herself as a nerd. She's such a goof. Anyway, I think I will totally enjoy learning how to use photoshop and creating digi layouts....I'll never give up traditional scrapbooking though, I love to play with scissors too much!! ;)

Loads of Layouts!!!

Well, loads for me, plus I'm so behind in my Design Your Life class that it's not even funny. I'm having a hard time finding pictures to go with the sketches. I will be taking lots of pics this next weekend though as I'm heading to Dallas for a conference and 1/2 marathon, so I'm sure to come back with TONS of pics that will be perfect for these sketches. This class is quite a bit different than my usual scrapping style, but I'm getting a lot of pics on the pages and the clean lines and design is visual pleasing. So, here are some of my LO's based on Cathy Z's DYL class. And yes, I have a TON of pics/LO's of my cute daughter. My son lives in VEgas and it's just me and her.........and she LOVES the camera!!!!
