Whimsie Doodle Guest DT!

Hi everyone, I'm so excited to be sharing a card I made as my Guest DT spot for June over at
Whimsie Doodles!  I used this cute penguin to create a beach scene card, I won this image for a challenge a few months back and I'm not sure if it's been retired or not,  but there are tons of super cute images over at Whimsie Doodles to choose from, and lots of summer/beachy ones or cute ones for Father's Day that is coming up soon!

I colored the penguin and scene with copics, used the My Scrap Chick Card Essentials 2 for the card base and elements and the palm tree is from Miss Kate Cuttables beach scene.  I hope you like it, I had so much fun coloring up this cute image!

Books-Art Journal

 Hi everyone, I'd like to share my art journal page....I'm so excited with the whole art journaling concept and this is really my first attemp at something more than just a little stenciling and words.  I actually bought a moleskin journal, gel medium, and some other mixed media supplies.  It was a little hit and miss and I actually had to start completely over with my background but in the end I really love how it turned out.

I LOVE reading and I have quite a few reading/book images and quotes that will end up in this book, along with some other favorite images, now I just can't wait to do more pages!

I used a mix of gesso and tissue paper, washi tape, gelatos, distress ink (which I learned will smear...don't use these for this type of project) the distress paint daubers worked well though and then I glued and coated everything with gel medium.  The library cards are a stamp I've had for awhile and was happy to be able to use it for the first time, the ticket stamps are from a couple different Tim Holtz sets and the gorgeous digi stamp is from Ching-Chou Kuik called Lil Bookworm Fairy, she is such a gorgeous image and perfect for my journal!

{heart}

Hey blogland, hope you are having a great Thursday...it's my Friday this week and 5:30 can't come soon enough!!  I wish my work week was 2-3 days and my weekend 4-5....now wouldn't THAT be awesome!!  (sigh....in my dreams!)

I'm sharing a card using this sweet Fairy image from Whimsie Doodles called HEART FAIRY and she is in the What's New Section , I just think she is adorable, I also used the color swatch for the challenge at Whimsie Doodles.  I colored her with copics and used my MFT dies for the banner and background piece, C.C. designs die for the banner and the heart die is from Lawn Fawn and a little twine to add interest to the heart.

                                               Here is the color palette for the challenge, how spring/summery are those colors, I love the mint/orange combo!

Leave a Little Sparkle

Happy Sunday, I hope today finds you happy and well. I for one am going to go crawl into bed and take a lovely nap, it's a little overcast today and threatening rain, (I'm hoping for a downpour!)  I don't think there are many things that are better than a Sunday afternoon nap....at least at this point in my life, maybe that's just cuz I'm getting older, but hey, I guess that's one of the perks!

 I want to share a card I made for a few challenges and really wanted to play with this darling stamp from Sugar Pea Designs called Fairy Sweet.  I totally love fairies and anything in the fantasy world and this one is just so sweet!

For my card I used a circle base, the I colored the image with copics and cut it out with a stitched circle die, stamped one of the sentiments and punched that out, added some stars from the stamp set and paper stars as well.  I also used Wink of Stella on her wand and wings!
