Good-bye Google Reader, Hello Bloglovin'

Hi Bloggy Friends!

By now, I'm sure we have all heard that Google Reader is going the way of the dinosaurs, becoming extinct for whatever reason.....and if you haven't heard....well, here's your heads up!!  :)

So, I have made the transition to Bloglovin’ to read up on the blogs I follow, since Google Reader will be gone in the next few days.  I would love for you to continue to follow or begin to follow my blog if you want...the button is on my sidebar at the top. <<<<<<<<<  :D

It was super easy to change over to Bloglovin', which is good cuz if you are like me and not real tech savvy, these kind of changes tend to freak me out.  You just create a Bloglovin’ account and in the process it asks if you want to import the blogs you read on Google Reader to your new Bloglovin’ account.  Click the button to import and that’s it!

It was easy and it didn't send me into any panic attacks, I know if *I* can do it, anyone can!

Time for a Picnic

I put together this card using the June sketch over at Some Odd Girl and used Picnic Mae, I just love the way this turned out!! Mae is always so fun to color up!

I used my copics, some gems, prima flowers and the middles of the flowers are the dots for the i's in one of my letter packages!  Used blue and yellow twine, some pattern paper, (love the denim paper) and used a white pen for stitching..it's a little hard to see.

I think she feels all summery!  I did her in blues, yellows, some brown and a touch of red.  Hope you like her as much as I do!!

Friday Favorite #5

Favorite Disney Princess................if this was my daughter's answer it would be Ariel, of course, that is where the love of Mermaids come from.

But, this is MY favorite princess.  Most likely because of our mutual love of books- Of far off adventures, sword fights, daydreams and  a prince in disguise!  Books make her happy.  Books make me happy.  I love reading a book, getting to the end, being a little disappointed that it's over, but looking forward to the next one.  So many books, so little time.  I used to read for hours and hours after school, on the weekend, whenever I could get a few minutes of reading time in, then my nose would be in a book.  I usually have a book in my purse, and now on my kindle, so I am truly, never without a book.  One Saturday when I was a teenager, I shut myself in my room and read two books. I also read 7 books in a 5 day timeframe, while working full time!  That is how much I love to read.  I love being turned on to new books and authors and fully immersing myself in the story.  LOVE it!

I also like Belle, because she is able to see the person underneath the surface, to see that there is goodness underneath all the gruffness.  She is a little stubborn, she sacrifices for her father, she takes a bad situation and makes the best out of it.  She is positive, honest and kind.

And in the end, she falls in love, breaks the spell and gets her Prince.  And that huge library full of books.  She gets that too!! ;)

It's time for another challenge over at Scribbles Challenge and our theme is Manly Men, Masculine, and Dads.

Our sponsor is Bugaboo and I've paired up their astronaut image with a Scribbles sentiment.  Colored with copics, used a couple different star punches and scrap cardstock to put this together.  I love that Sandy had the perfect sentiment to go with this cutie little astronaut!!!

Head over to Scribbles to join our challenge and check out the other DT projects, they are all so talented!!

Friday Favorites #4

Favorite Disney character.....  this little guy.  I just LOVE him, he's so cute and funny. Plus, he's blue!!   I love his crazy little personality, his gravely voice and his need to just want to belong and have a family.   Hands down he is my favorite little character.  Next week on Friday Favorites I will share my favorite Disney Princess!

There is a little bit of Stitch love.....I have 5-6 Stitch collectables, picture frame, stuffed Stitches and a Stitch figurine.  Just love the little guy!! :)

Happy Birthday

I made this card using my first Kenny K image...I knew I wanted a baseball player for my daughter's boyfriends b-day card, and since he is a pitcher, this was PERFECT!!!  I used copics and kept the design really simple.  I hope he likes it....Ash says it looks a lot like him..blond hair and everything!! ;)

Just Keep Swimming..

Here is a card I made for a few challenges.  I just totally LOVE this Mermaid Mae from Some Odd Girl.  She is adorable and so fun to color. I'm not sure she is still available, I couldn't find her in the store, I had won some SOG images awhile ago and picked this one.  My Ashlie LOVES mermaids.  The Little Mermaid is still one of her favorite movies ...EVER!  So any chance to use a mermaid...I do!

I used copics to color her, glossy accents on the shell and bubbles. Enamel accents for her necklace, some sequins, embossed green paper, border punch for the purple border and white galaxy marker for the stitching.  the fish stickers were some that I've had for awhile.

I am entering this into the SOME ODD GIRL June sketch challenge using this sketch

sketch4

Also the SOG hair raising challenge which is to color an image with long hair, funky colors or both.

{PIN}spirational challenge based on this picture

Ok...back to more cards.  I swear sometimes it takes me days to put a card together.  It really shouldn't take that long.  I don't know if I'm just super slow, or too indecisive....hmmm!  :/

Friends-

I made this card for Round 2 of Odd Idol over at Some Odd Girl.  The theme was friendship and I kinda took inspiration from my daughter and her friends.  :)

I really love how it turned out and it did get the most votes for that round....too bad it wasn't the final round, cuz then I would have won!  :D   ;)

I did make it to the top 15 though  which was super cool.  I haven't entered any contest this big..EVER.  And something like this, I normally don't even try, so at least I did something that was a little outside my comfort zone.  Yay me!!

I used 60's Mod Mae, Heartsy Mae, and Happy Gwen  all from Some Odd Girl, colored them with copics, used some papers from an older kit..(can't remember line) and the filmstrip SVG was from
Miss Kate Cuttables, you should check out her site for SVG's, she has so many cute ones and a new freebie everyday!!

Anyway, just thought I would share

Sunshine Mail Challenge -SMILE

Here is my card for the challenge over at Sunshine Mail.  Just Some Lines is  the sponsors for this challenge and I got to use this darling image.  Check out Just Some Lines, they have some super cute images and some fun ones for summer.

Theme for this challenge is SMILE
sponsorship-badge

I used cardstock on hand and embossed the green with my cuttlebug folder.  Colored the image with copics, used primas, cut up a flourish to add some black accents and lined it with my white gel pen.

This card will be set aside with some others to send in to Sunshine Mail, and from there the cards will go to kids in need of cheering up.  If you have extra cards or just want to give to a good cause, make a card, join our challenge and send in a card for a child.  You have a chance to win a cool prize and you'll feel all warm and fuzzy inside!! :)

This is my last challenge with Sunshine Mail and I've had a great time working with them and believe that what they are trying to do is a very worthwhile cause.  Please check them out HERE.

And I'm off to get ready for a day of driving, basketball games, lots of diet coke and noisy girls in the back seat!  Happy Saturday!!

I am entering into the Just Some Lines challenge-Anything Goes

ALOHA- Scribbles Mid-Month #5

Here is my card for the mid-month Scribbles Challenge reminder for our challenge #5 which is the theme of Mother/Special Woman.  I made this card using Diva Lori Aloha image, isn't she fabulous!!  I also used the Escape ticket sentiment.  I totally love her and this came at a perfect time as I'm sending my card to a special person (who will not be named)  who will be going to Hawaii in a few weeks.   I'm hoping she doesn't see this post and this will be a nice little surprise in the mail. (Girlyfriend, if you see this post, just ignore it...k, thanks! ;)

Come check out our challenge and play along!

Go HERE to check out the other DT cards and projects, they all have mad skillz!!

Hope you have a Happy Saturday...mine is going to be busy driving girls to a basketball tournament 2 hours away and will be an all day event and then driving back tonight.....I didn't sleep well last night, so I think caffeine will be my friend today!! :/  ;)
