Happy B-Day Mom!!!

I made this card for my mom, her birthday is tomorrow. I won't actually get to see her because she is at my sister's house about 6 hours away. The card is based on sketch #20 at Triple the Sketch, the pink polka dot is a Heidi Swapp foam stamp with pink paint, I then outlined them in black and filled in with glitter. The Happy b-day and cake/flower image are both acrylic clear stamps, used water color pencils on the cake/flower, used some bling, pattern paper, and ribbon. Hope mom has a very good birthday!!

On another topic.....being single is starting to get real old. Dating sucks! I've been doing a little online dating, you can do everything else on line, why not date as well? One guy I have chatted with a few times just said "Hi hot panties" I said, "excuse me?" he said he thought I would appreciate that comment. Um, hello..........not. Who says things like that? I mean really. Needless to say I don't care at all to talk to him again. Ever. Sheesh. Is it too much to ask for a normal guy....and I know some of you may think "well, that is normal for a guy"........but please tell me there are some normal men out there that wouldn't say something like that.

Good-byes..........SUCK!

Well the day that Twila and I were dreading has arrived. Our friend Cheri moved to Salt Lake City today, which is about 4.5 hours away from us. This is a very sad time, I actually wanted to cry, in fact I did. Cheri, Twila and I would joke that we were each others "dates", we just would get together about twice a month and do a movie and dinner. Dinner was usually at Chili's unless one of us really wanted something else, but usually we ended up at Chili's. Once we met for lunch at the Pizza Factory and talked for 4 hours, we were there for the lunch AND dinner crowd. Im sure the employees wondered if we even had a life. We found our time together theraputic, 3 single moms talking about life, children, ex's, dating, men, money, and everything else. It's going to be a lot different now with Cheri gone. It's a good thing we have text messages, instant chat, blogs, and phones to keep in touch with each other. Twila & I decided we need to go to Salt Lake every now and then, and Cheri will be back here too. It's always sad when something good in your life changes and isn't there anymore like it used to be. I wish Cheri all the luck in the world in her new life..see ya soon girl!!!

Just an update

Here are a few pictures from the 24th of July, (Pioneer Day, state holiday!). It's been a family tradition and almost like a family reunion that every July 24th we spend the day in Beaver at the horse races, and this year I didn't mind it because my dad had a horse running. Actually I have part interest in the horse as well and it's name is Sharla's Dream, kinda cool. My dad's side of the family is big into thouroughbred horses, raising, training, racing. His cousin trains the horse and his son is the jockey. I think the "horse" gene skipped the girls in my family, because we go just to support my dad and his interests, but the races are actually very exciting when you have your own horse running.

Isn't he a beauty?

Getting ready...After the race and WE WON!!!

My dad and my sweet grandpa helping to cool him down after the race.
Here are a couple of cute pics of my cousins. Lindsey, she's so cute and can totally pull of the pink hair!! Kylie and Ashlie, how cute!!

So that's it! We had a great day, visited with lots of family and friends and had a great WIN to top it all off.
