Happy Birthday

Happy Monday to ya all! It's a happy Monday for me because it's a holiday and I'm not at work!! YAY!!!

I also was able to finish up a card using a gorgeous fairy from Some Odd Girl called Petal Fairy.  I love fairies....well, really anything in the fantasy genre. Dragons, mermaids, fairies, etc.  And Some Odd Girl has a good selection of really cute fairies.  I used the color scheme from My Favorite Things for the inspiration and also the sketch from MFT.

Supplies used:
Copics
Spellbinders -Floral Ovals
My Favorite Things-leaves and washi die
doily
paper
sequins
patterned vellum
wink of stella-clear

This is the first card I've ever used Wink of Stella on, how in the world did I not have this product before???  It's awesome, leaves such a gorgeous layer of shimmer.....I'm in love!!  I've added it to the red parts in her wings!

HB2U

I want to share this card I just finished, and had so much fun coloring this image and playing with bright colors!  I absolutely love fairy images and Some Odd Girl has some of my favorite ones.  This one is Dandelion Fairy, and I think she is just adorable!  I found this circle pattern paper in my stash and decided to go with the circle theme and traced the circle on white 12x12 cardstock, folded in half and cut out, leaving the fold.  I used primas, enamel dots (gumdrops from Your Next Stamp..LOVE these) and colored her with copics.  I colored the HB2U stickers with my black copics and glued them on the banner.

Believe in the Magic

I love this adorable little fairy!!  I colored her during a Color Along with Kristy of Some Odd Girl, and colored in Christmas colors, I think she turned out so cute.  This is my first attempt at making a card that is completely out of my normal style by adding a lot of bulky embellishments, I'm not sure....but I think it turned out pretty cute.  I did make this a 6x6 card, but I decided I don't want to give it away and will add her to a canvas that I can use for a home decor item.

Mad Scientist Tobie

I made this card using Mad Scientist Tobie from Some Odd Girl.   I think he's pretty much the coolest little mad scientist EVER!

I used some Halloween themed paper for the background, colored Tobie with my copics, used glossy accents on the liquid and bubbles, and did an ombre background, added some glitter modeling paste with a stencil...kinda hard to see in the pic, but it was pretty fun to play around with.

Anyway, I hope you like it and hope you all have a Wonderful Wednesday!! :)

Warm Wishes and Hello Winter

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm ready for some cooler weather!! Not too cold, and not snowy, but nice crisp fallish weather!  We have had rain for the past couple days and I LOVE the rain.  I should have stayed home from work and just cleaned house, thrown open the windows and enjoyed it....

Well, my projects today are more winterish and snowy.  I've used the new digi release
Momma and Baby Penguin from Some Odd Girl.  I've been the guest designer over in Oddland for the month of August and it's been a blast!! These cards are my final projects for my Guest spot.

I colored it all with copics, used pattern paper from a 6x6 winter pack I picked up at Hobby Lobby.  The igloo is from Create a Critter cricut cartridge.  The snowflakes are Martha Stewart snowflake corners that I just carefully tore the corner off. I spritzed the white background with spray ink on the second card, used my circle scallop dies, ribbon, and letter stickers.  The Warm Wishes sentiment on the first card is from Some Odd Girl and came with the super cute ski bunny clear stamp set.  Hope you like my cards and hope the weather wherever you are is just how you like it!! ;D

Wish I looked this good while running!

Sigh....but I do not.  If and when I attempt to run I look and feel like I've already run a full marathon within the first quarter mile.  I need to be more consistent....that, actually is the story of my life...needing to be more consistent.  At one time I did run a half marathon and was pretty proud of myself but that was several years ago.

Anyway, my lack and inconsistency of running is not the topic of this post...it's to share this fun card I made with JOGGER MAE from Some Odd Girl.  Now she knows how to pull off running and looks fabulous at the same time!

I colored with copics and used the papers from My Mind's Eye-My Girl collection and then used some fun banners  and wood arrows colored with brown copics!  Hope you like my card...not sure of a sentiment yet, will depend on the occasion.  I do have several friends that ARE runners and this might be a good luck or congrats card for one of them.

Warm Winter Wishes

Yikes, this is late! I tried to get this done this morning before it went live on Some Odd Girl blog but I think my computer is trying to crash, or it is just old and tired, or it just hates me...I can't decide.  So, I'm finishing this at work...SHHHH!!!   I did rush in early though so it wouldn't run into my work day.

So for those that are just joining me or have been away for awhile, I won a guest design spot over at Some Odd Girl...YAY!! I love Kristy's stamps, her images are SO much fun to color up and play with and I've had a blast playing with them in Odd land.

So I got to use the new digi release which is this awesomely majestic MOOSE.  I colored the moose with copics, the snow is hand torn from white cardstock and lined with stickles glitter, the tree, stars and garland are all from Joys of the Season Cricut cartridge and I colored the background with Distress Inks and my sponge applicator using blues and I think Antique Linen. I did add a little Snowtex to the tree and spritzed the background with spray ink.  I had this cute kraft gift box that I thought would be perfect to put a scarf, beanie and maybe some gloves in for a warm winter gift.  I hope you like it and hope you will go check out my post at Some Odd Girl!!

Catchin Powder

Here is my second project as guest designer over at Some Odd Girl.  I got to use this adorable little ski bunny and knew exactly what I was going to do with it.  I used it as a title card on my Project Life page for when my daughter went skiing for the first time.  I colored the bunny with copics, colored my white thickers with different colors (copics)  to match the bunny, used some washi, some snowflake stickers and spray ink for the spatters. I also added some white enamel accents on the letters.  Clear and digital stamps aren't just for cardmaking....check your files and see if you can use them in your PL pages or your scrapbook layouts!! Totally fun! :)

A little Witchy!

Ok...I  know that these colors are completely different for a Halloween image, but I was working on this for an opposite colors challenge, then ended up going in a different direction.  I think she is super cute and fun...I'm not sure on a sentiment yet, depends on if I send her for Halloween or just a "flying by to say hi"

I colored her with copics and the image is Witchy Mae from Some Odd Girl, I used the sketch from Some Odd Girl for the July sketch challenge

Up, Up & Away

I used 3 different Some Odd Girl digi's for this card, I played around with different colors for a different challenge, but didn't end up using them.  When the GET MOVING challenge popped up over at SOG, then I knew just what I wanted to do with these images.  The flag banners are also SOG clear stamps from the Celebration Mae set.  I added glossy accents to the banners and hearts on the balloon.  The balloon is an SVG from Miss Kate Cuttables.  The grass is just white paper that I colored with distress ink, and I used a cloud template that I made and inked the clouds with distress ink too.

I found the quote from Dr. Seuss online and thought the quote and all the colors would make for a fun, quirky, and whimsical card.

Time for a Picnic

I put together this card using the June sketch over at Some Odd Girl and used Picnic Mae, I just love the way this turned out!! Mae is always so fun to color up!

I used my copics, some gems, prima flowers and the middles of the flowers are the dots for the i's in one of my letter packages!  Used blue and yellow twine, some pattern paper, (love the denim paper) and used a white pen for stitching..it's a little hard to see.

I think she feels all summery!  I did her in blues, yellows, some brown and a touch of red.  Hope you like her as much as I do!!

Just Keep Swimming..

Here is a card I made for a few challenges.  I just totally LOVE this Mermaid Mae from Some Odd Girl.  She is adorable and so fun to color. I'm not sure she is still available, I couldn't find her in the store, I had won some SOG images awhile ago and picked this one.  My Ashlie LOVES mermaids.  The Little Mermaid is still one of her favorite movies ...EVER!  So any chance to use a mermaid...I do!

I used copics to color her, glossy accents on the shell and bubbles. Enamel accents for her necklace, some sequins, embossed green paper, border punch for the purple border and white galaxy marker for the stitching.  the fish stickers were some that I've had for awhile.

I am entering this into the SOME ODD GIRL June sketch challenge using this sketch

sketch4

Also the SOG hair raising challenge which is to color an image with long hair, funky colors or both.

{PIN}spirational challenge based on this picture

Ok...back to more cards.  I swear sometimes it takes me days to put a card together.  It really shouldn't take that long.  I don't know if I'm just super slow, or too indecisive....hmmm!  :/

Friends-

I made this card for Round 2 of Odd Idol over at Some Odd Girl.  The theme was friendship and I kinda took inspiration from my daughter and her friends.  :)

I really love how it turned out and it did get the most votes for that round....too bad it wasn't the final round, cuz then I would have won!  :D   ;)

I did make it to the top 15 though  which was super cool.  I haven't entered any contest this big..EVER.  And something like this, I normally don't even try, so at least I did something that was a little outside my comfort zone.  Yay me!!

I used 60's Mod Mae, Heartsy Mae, and Happy Gwen  all from Some Odd Girl, colored them with copics, used some papers from an older kit..(can't remember line) and the filmstrip SVG was from
Miss Kate Cuttables, you should check out her site for SVG's, she has so many cute ones and a new freebie everyday!!

Anyway, just thought I would share

Score!

Just made another quickie card with the sketch over at Some Odd Girl and used the theme from
{PIN}spirational challenge (TOP 3)  to put this together.  I used Soccer Tia for this card, colored with copics, papers and banners from my stash.

That's it for my quickie post....now we are getting out of the house and enjoying this beautiful day!

Hello cupcake

I made this card to enter into the monthly challenge over at Some Odd Girl  (Won fave pic)  it is based on a super cool sketch and I used Baker Kaylee for my image.  I colored with copics and used different scrap papers from several 6x6 paper pads.  I also used my copics to color the wooden HELLO word bubble!!

Also, over at the Some Odd Girl community, there is an ODD IDOL contest going on and voting is open right now through Wednesday.  I've made it into the top 15 and now am just waiting til Friday to see if I go on to the next round.   I don't know the results and I can't tell you which card is mine, this is supposed to be a completely blind voting contest based on which entry best follows the theme.  The suspense is killing me, but I'm crossing my fingers and hoping to move on!! ;D
