I scream, You scream!

I don't know about anyone else, but I love putting together cute, simple gifts that are just a little bit different than normal. When I saw these cute ice-cream bowls at my local craft store I just had to get them. I think I ended up with 14!! Plus, they were 75% off!! Whoo hoo...WIN!!! So, I thought to use the bowl as part of the packaging for the gift. I don't know too many people that don't like ice-cream and all the toppings for a really good sundae or banana split. So, here's how I put it together.

1) Cute bowl! ;)

2) Yummy toppings for sundaes or banana splits!

3) Put toppings in bowl with cute colorful tissue paper. (only 3 toppings would fit)

4) Wrap up in clear cellophane with curling ribbon.

5) Attach cute tag, and wa-lah..you're done!! It makes for a cute, simple gift that is fast and easy to put together.

Just finished this assignment over at Jessica Sprague, this was a quicky assignment, a 30 minute from start to finish project. Honestly, I didn't time myself, but I don't think I made it under 30 minutes, still though it was a start to finish project and I'm surprised at how it turned out. I did have to go back and reference some of the instructions on how to do certain techniques, but all in all, I was happy with the turn out. I wonder why this is taking me so long to get the hang of....certain aspects of it seem to come easily and others are taking their own sweet time sinking in. So I played around with the dates on these two versions. Which do you like better????

This one has the date up under the photo, a little smaller and less noticeable.

And this one...the date is bigger and takes up the bottom corner. I know which one I like better, but wanted a few other opinions. So, if your opinionated and want to comment on which one ya like better, please feel free to do so!! :)

First Day Freshman

Can't believe my baby girl is a freshman....ACK. Where in the world did the time go? Her cousin was visting and they had their fun staging a photo shoot, and Ash is definitley not camera shy! They got some good pics and I played with the best ones, using Bo Bunny's Sophia line.. LOVE it!!
Then I just had to do a LO on her growing up, and me gushing about how proud I am of her!
And then I reused the package that the Bo Bunny buttons came in and used the idea on the Bo Bunny Blog to make this cute teacher gift! Ash's teachers birthday is today and she wanted a fun gift to give. Really easy, really cute!! Sorry for the glare, ya know..I've been working on learning photoshop and having fun with that, and the next thing I need to do, is learn how to better use my camera!

Beginner down...

Intermediate.......here I come! Yep, I signed up for the next class at http://www.jessicasprague.com/, whoot!!! In the meantime though, I'm going to be practicing all the cool things I've learned so that I'm super ready for the next class! If you are thinking about learning digi scrapping, or photoshop, I highly recommend her classes. Very easy to follow along and totally fun!

This was my last assignment for the beginner class. I didn't have any great pics of the house, so it's kinda just a bunch of thrown together photos...but I just wanted to get it done. I'm going to plan on being more prepared for the next class though with some better pics!

Lovin the digi scrappin

I just finished my assignment #3 over at JessicaSprague. Gotta say, I'm kinda diggin it!! Look how cute this layout is! The only thing I can take credit for is the cute girl in the pictures, other
than her........the layout was all pre-done with the class. I'll really feel like I can accomplish something when I can make something this detailed on my own!

Photoshop is kickin my butt!

Ok..so I've been taking the beginning photoshop class over at JessicaSprague.com and I think once I get the hang of digi scrapping that I will absolutely love it. But, until then the learning curve has had some frustration to it. I've only completed 2 lessons so far.....I always seem to be behind...the story of my life!!! UGH!! So, here are a couple layouts that I've done from my assignments. They are based on quick pages, which for me, might be the only way I digi
scrap until I get more comfortable with the process.

That's my cute daughter who is in science class wearing big ole glasses and then described herself as a nerd. She's such a goof. Anyway, I think I will totally enjoy learning how to use photoshop and creating digi layouts....I'll never give up traditional scrapbooking though, I love to play with scissors too much!! ;)
