A Child's Play challenge at Pile It On

Hi everyone, we are up with a new challenge over at Pile It On and the theme is 

Child's Play

I used the image Swinging Dolly for this card and colored her with copics.  I paper pieced the tree branch and swing, and leaves, I also printed out another image to color and popped up Dolly to give her dimension...the leaves and sun are also popped up for dimension.  The clouds are die cuts from Miss Kate Cuttables, and the yellow border and bottom border are also die cuts.

Happy Saturday to ya'll, I'd like to let ya know that over at A Random Fan, they have a new sketch challenge up for everyone to play with.  It is a tag, and here is the sketch.

I used a Pirate Adventure for my tag.  I colored with copics, the background is a huge map stamp that I have had for so, so long that I don't remember the brand but it worked perfectly with this stamp!  The enjoy the journey stamp is from Tim Holtz, the Journey collection. Day 57

A new stencil, some cute wood veneer leaves and a few cute flowers!!  Love new crafty supplies!!

Swig...our local drink place, they seriously have the best diet coke with lemon and sugar cookies!! YUMMY!!

Day 59 

I finally made laundry soap!! I've only had the stuff to make it for probably 5 months.  Love feeling like I've accomplished something!

Cute card!! Love it when a card comes together and I get to use fun embellishments and cute images!!

This is just about how I feel at work everyday....but especially on Mondays!

Love my cute Minnie mug, and love the hot cocoa that was in it!!

I'm not sure about this, but I went the whole day without a diet coke.  I've tried quitting several times and then fall off the wagon and it takes me months and sometimes years to climb back on....getting through the day without one, tells me that at least I won't die if I don't have one!

Isn't she cute?!  This image is from Pholkart and is called   BEACH GIRL  I colored with copics, added some glossy accents to her fins, and the dots on her tube, I had a set of beachy sandy stickers that I used at the bottom, the sticker at the top is from a very old set as is the polka dot paper.

Have a Fairy Good Day!

I haven't put a sentiment on this and sometimes intentionally leave it off until I know what occasion I will use the card for....but I think this image just says "have a good day", it's a happy image and one of my favorite Some Odd Girl digis!

  I colored with copics, used washi tape to frame the image, used a doily, primas, wood veneer, gems, ribbon and the polka dot section is a stencil from Heidi Swapp and I used a glimmer spray from DITTO...there is actually a subtle shimmer to it...really pretty!

Love you with Hannah Hearts

This was my first Kraftin Kimmie image and she was so fun!! I did a color along with Alyce from

 Kit and Clowder.  I think I colored three different ones because I kept practicing the hair...which I still need lots of practice, but I think she turned out super cute!   I colored with copics and then used paper from my stash, the doily border is a sticker from a set I've had for along time, the banners are washi tape, I added some gems, photo corners and twine.

#100happydays week 8

                                   Here is my week 8 recap for my #100happydays experiment:

                                                                         Day 50
This was a Thursday night, my son and I met about halfway between here and Vegas to drop Ash off so she could spend time with her family in Vegas.  Ash isn't comfortable yet (and neither am I) with her driving on the highway for almost two hours, especially at dusk/night.  So, this gives me the perfect chance to spend a few minutes with my son, it's always a happy moment to see his handsome face!!  He is currently in the Police Academy and all the work and training is paying off, he's getting some pretty big biceps!!   He had to get pepper sprayed a few weeks ago, which made this mom really sad, he said it was the worst thing he's experienced so far.  I BET!!!

                                                                              Day 51
I love my town!! Every year at Easter weekend, we have an Art's Festival, you can see all the white tent tops.......there were 4 rows and it went two lawns deep with vendors selling photography, paintings, ceramics, wood work, jewelry, and all kinds of unique handmade items.  There are some seriously amazing and talented people out there!

 This was Saturday April 19th and our work has been putting on a 5k race for the past 3 years, when we got done and were heading home we saw this hot air balloon starting to come down and I had to snap a pic....a hot air balloon ride is on my bucket list!! LOVE it! :)

          

Day 53

Sometimes, ya just need a good reminder that no matter how bad the day or how much procrastination happens during the day, you can always start over at anytime!

       It was late, I didn't have my pic for the day yet, but this girl had just gotten home from Vegas and I was more than happy to have her home.  I can understand not wanting to have the pic taken, but had to do it anyway!!  I can be mean like that!! ;)

Ok...so I don't really like pics of myself or selfies at all, but I had to put this as proof and a reminder that working out is rewarding and that I'm always happy when I'm DONE with the workout.  I will grumble and complain before and during, but then I'm happy when it's done.  Trying to get back in the workout habit...since getting married 3 years ago, I've let myself pack on about 30lbs and am going through some seriously not good conversation with myself.  I'm not too nice to myself sometimes and especially when it comes to weight. So not only am I battling with myself verbally, but also physically.  I have to realize that I just need to work hard, take baby steps and make this a life long commitment and not a sprint to lose weight as fast as possible.  Cuz I've done that before and it never sticks................

                                                                                Day 56
A crockpot full of dinner!! That always makes me happy because I actually HATE to cook, I have 20k other things I would rather do than make dinner, I'd rather NOT eat than have to cook.  I'd rather sit on the couch and stare at the wall than cook.....you get the idea.....SOOOOO when I actually have something prepared and cooking and can come home and dinner is done....that makes for one happy me!!  Plus, this is a really good dinner.  It's something that I kinda came up with after eating something similar at a restaurant.  It's a white bean chicken chowder that you eat in a bread bowl!! YUMMY!

 So there we have week 8...it's got my kids, some outside activity, some workin out, and some yummy food.  All of which makes me happy!!

Spring

I participate in the progressive image challenge over at From the Heart, and this is the image for April, I love the quote, it can relate to the actual winter/spring or can relate to trials and challenges and knowing that they won't last forever, there is a time and season for everything. I find it comforting either way! 

I colored with copics, added a touch of stickles on the flowers and then water colored the background.  I really like how it turned out!! I used a very dark purple background paper (looks black in pic) yellow pattern paper and a hot pink strip, some lace and a brad.

I think it turned out and looks really happy!  So to all of my bloggy friends that are still in the middle of winter weather....this too shall pass and soon spring will show it's lovely face.  For me in my area, we are enjoying spring and for us spring is a little short as we hit really high temps for most of the late spring into early fall... for now, I'm just enjoying the little bit cooler temps and hope they stick around for awhile longer!
