From My Neck of the Woods

I bought the super cute kit from My Favorite Things last month and finally sat down to make a card, I stamped and colored a bunch of images and die cut some trees, houses and clouds, this whole set is just darling.

I used the color combo and sketch challenge at My Favorite Things for the inspiration.

and my card....it didn't turn out the way I imagined but trying to put more elements on just made it too busy, so I stuck to a cleaner look.

Feel Better Soon

With a couple friends down and out with sickness and covid, I made a few cards with a Get Better Soon theme.  I used the Fancy Florals stamp set and die set for the flowers, leaves and then used this Feel Better Soon sentiment from My Favorite Things.  I followed the color challenge for inspiration, stamped and die cut all the elements and finished it off with enamel dots from Your Next Stamp.

A Million Thanks

I played with the current color and sketch challenge over at My Favorite Things, using all MFT products, stamps, and dies and created a card for my daughter to give to her Nana.  I love using sketches and color challenges as a jump off point and mostly stick as close as possible to the challenge.

Ever After

This is  my last card for awhile using the Magical Unicorns from My Favorite Things, I had colored up a few from the set to use for a color challenge and didn't get them all done in the time frame I was hoping for....so here is the one I made for the sketch challenge at MFT

I colored the unicorns and small clouds with copics and added some grass and clouds with distress ink.  I used an oval stitched die from C.C Designs and the edged stitch on the top and bottom are a die from Sugar Pea Designs.

Happily Ever After

I put together another card using the super cute Magical Unicorn stamp set from My Favorite Things, I am entering the color challenge and the sketch challenge.  I actually had a lot of fun with the colors and thought they were perfect for  whimiscal/mythical images.  The sentiment is also from MFT and is from the Essential Sentiments set.  The heart, pattern papers, and sentiment strip are also MFT.

Happy Together

I'm a Guest DT member for September over at Let's Get Sketchy and this is the layout that I came up with, the sketch is right below.  I LOVE using sketches as it is the perfect jumping off point for creativity.  This layout definitley took on a life of its own.  I had several bold colors and lots of shapes on the sketch to work with and this was my final take.

I love these pictures, they make the cutest Eric, Ariel and little flouder!!  I just swiped my distress pads across the paper for the bold color strips and hand colored and cut out the seaweed, my silhouette isn't hooked up yet, so the fish and crab are stickers and the "so cute, and together" words are from Elle's Studio.  I splattered some grey distress ink and added some enamel dots. I love how it finally turned out because I played with this for quiet awhile!! :)

Playing with Flowers

I usually don't play with flower themed digi stamps or regular stamps, for some reason flowers tend to intimidate me a little.  I couldn't help but pick up the Beautiful Blossoms stamp set and the Just Vine Background stamp from Taylored Expressions and I've actually started to get over my aversion to flowers!  These flowers are so pretty and can be colored up quickly.  I also got the matching die set.

So I made a couple different cards using the daisy looking image and did two completely different styles and color combos.

The first card is done in more fallish colors and I used the sketch over at My Favorite Things as the inspiration for the design.

and the second card I colored with contrasting colors. Everything was colored with copics, I used enamel dots and washi tape from Freckled Fawn and used the banner die from My Favorite Things.

Snapchat Obsession

It's been so good to spend some time actually scrapping, lately I've been pulled in too many directions and while I still have a few weeks of other obligations, I was happy to find a little time to join a layout sketch challenge over at Let's Get Sketchy

Here is the sketch and then my take on it!

I didn't know anything about snapchat for the longest time and then when I did.....Holy Cow, I had found a way to entertain myself for a long time.  I would take pictures everyday with my favorite filters and trust me.....I have a ton!  This is a smidge of the pics and some fun ones.  I absolutely LOVE BREAD HEAD.....such a good time!  Anyway, I'm entering this in the Let's Get Sketchy challenge and then after a couple months I'm really hoping to get back to scrapbooking on a more regular basis!

Everything on this layout except for the letters are from my stash, and some elements from paper collections at are way old.  The letters are die cuts from My Favorite Stamps.

New Home

OH MY GOODNESS, I am so in love with this stamp set from My Favorite Things called
Hangin with my Gnomies!  I mean look at this adorable little gnome home!  Soooo cute!  I love all things mythical and fantastical, so this set was a must have.  There are some fun punny gnome sentiments, mushrooms, ladybugs, flowers and leaves and 4 different gnomes along with the house.

I followed the challenge for the color combination and the sketch over at MFT for this card and love how it turned out.

and here is my take on the sketch and color combinations. I colored with copics and masked the house to shade the background with Simon Says Stamp ink and Taylor Expressions blender tools (first time using them and I LOVE them)

Mission Control......

....we have a birthday!  I love this little space explorer stamp set from My Favorite Things, with 7 grandsons, 6 and under...these will definitely be needed!

I used this sketch as my inspiration and just started playing around with the elements of the stamp set.  I wanted to use all the planets, cute rocket and space explorer and hopefully get them all on without it being over crowded, I think it worked well with this sketch!!  I colored up 4 different sets in blue, green, purple and red.  SO FUN!!

Sending Prayers

I made this simple card to send to a neighbor whose family is battling the COVID virus, she is a little older lady and lives alone, I think this gorgeous bouqet of flowers from Simon Says Stamp is the perfect image.  I have used the Prayers die from MFT on the inside with a note.  I used the color challenge over at My Favorite Things, which is a fun spring/summer color combo.

You & Me

I'm so excited to be the April guest designer over at LET'S GET SKETCHY!

What a fun and fabulous sketch!  I cut out the stars on my silhouette and used the You & Me wood veneer from Freckled Fawn as well as the enamel heart, arrows and dots, I used some strips of pattern paper for the top and bottom and a little washi as well.  I finished it off with some white paint spatters.  The cute pic is of my daughter and grandson and will be gifting her this layout for her album!
Hope you like my layout and will join us for April's Sketch Challenge

You GORGEOUS Thing!

I played around with a stamp set that I've had for awhile and finally broke it out and broke it in.  I love flamingos and was obsessed with them when I was a teenager....so only fitting that I grabbed this adorable set from Sugar Pea Designs called Let's Flamingle

and here is my card!  I used stamps and a mix of ink from several companies, the tree trunks were hand drawn as were the bushes and the sun was inked on with a sponge dauber...I just love this whole set, love the water ripples, the flower and the super cute flamingo!

All Bundled Up

A very rare occasion to be able to take snow pictures as we live in the desert, but we found ourselves heading north for a dr appt for little Nash and got a total white winter!

I used this fun sketch from Let's Get Sketchy and papers from Simple Stories Sub Zero collection. I dry brushed white paint just above and below the pictures to wash out the color a little bit and really liked how that turned out.

First Fall

I got another layout done this weekend, I think this is the most I've scrapped in a very long time (years) , if felt really good to actually put some pictures to paper and then put in an album.  Ive really got to spend more time catching up....

This layout was inspired by the sketch at Scrap Our Stash, I used the right side and my flowers are in the border paper and the Hello Fall title.   This is my daughter, her husband and baby....I just have to say that I'm a little obsessed with my handsome little grandbaby!

BLESSED

Woah, I finally got a scrap page done!  It's been awhile, but I really want to get caught up on my pictures and get them in albums.

This page is when my grandbaby was born, pictures where taken in the hospital (first 48) and I love how they turned out.

I used the sketch from the Let's Get Sketchy Jan challenge as my inspiration.  The rest of the pictures from that photoshoot will go Project Life style.
I used Simple Stories Oh BABY! collection and a couple pattern papers from my stash.  I used some embossing powder, but really wish I would have left that off....I'm not really liking how that part of it turned out, but I LOVE the stickers and papers from the OH  BABY collection, they are so cute and perfect!
